Glock Gun Was In Glove Compartment Of Bergen County Teen's Car: Police
TEANECK, NJ — A traffic stop in Teaneck has led to the arrest of two teens on weapons and drug charges, police said.Both Ross Daniels-Lynn, 18, of Teaneck, and Serenity Griffith, 18, of Maywood have been charged with weapons and drug offenses, Teaneck police said Tuesday.Police said that on Feb. 10, just before 11 a.m., they arrested Mr. Ross Daniels-Lynn of Teaneck, after discovering he was in possession of an illegal firearm during a routine motor vehicle stop on Cedar Lane. After an investigation of the vehicle, Daniels-Lynn was charged with additional weapon and drug offenses, police said.The owner of the Hyundai that was stopped, Serenity Griffith, was also charged with weapon possession and drug offenses, police said. But she was seated in the passenger seat and was released as the investigation continued, police said.Her 2009 Hyundai Genesis was impounded and towed from the scene, police said.Police got a warrant four days later and searched the vehicle.The search revealed a 40-caliber Glock handgun in the passenger compartment, police said. The gun contained hollow-point bullets, and the weapon's serial and model numbers had been defaced and removed, police said."Also discovered in the vehicle were packages containing suspected marijuana and paraphernalia commonly used for the distribution of narcotics, specifically packaging material and a digital scale," police said.Police also found a small amount of suspected Ecstasy (MDMA), they said.As a result, the suspects were charged with additional offenses: Unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun while distributing controlled dangerous substances, distribution of marijuana, possession of MDMA, possession of controlled dangerous substances within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of hollow point bullets, and possession of distribution paraphernalia. - 2C:39-3D – 4Both teens have been brought to the Bergen County Rehabilitation and Correctional Facility, police said.Chief Andrew McGurr asked that anyone with additional information regarding the incident or illegal firearms in the area to contact the Teaneck Police Department at 201-837-2600, or Crime Stoppers.
