Monty Keates continues to defy genre with hyper-rock anthem EASY
Monty Keates is back with another experimental anthem.
Known for his futuristic blend of DnB, electro and rock – which he memorably coined as “hyper-rock” – the rising singer-songwriter is continuing to defy genre with the innovative sounds of his new single ‘EASY‘.
On the raucous high-energy bop, Monty expresses how he wants the memory of a former lover to be ‘wiped’ from his brain. In a statement, he said “some goodbyes are well overdue”.
“This song is an ode to showing someone the door and getting on with life like it never happened,” he explained, “I want people to turn it up and wipe their brains of any baggage that’s holding them back.”
‘EASY’ follows the release of his debut single ‘PANIC!‘, which was met with critical acclaim, as well as ‘Lose My Head‘ and ‘Unavailable‘.

Wearing neurodivergence and his queer identity as a badge of honour, Monty has amassed over one million followers and has been championed by META, Apple Music, Spotify and BBC Radio.
Earlier this year, he was signed to GAY TIMES’ wax Talent, alongside stars such as Courtney Act, Daniel W Fletcher, Remi & Erris, AJ Clementine, Theo Walker, Jazzelle, Lucky Love and Enam Asiama.
‘EASY’ is out now – listen to the single here or below.
