Georgia Football 24 for ’24: Dillon Bell

We kicked off our 24 for ’24 series with 24 days to go until the turning of the calendar from July to August. With Georgia getting fall camp started around then, what better time to turn the attention to the season and the team’s most important players.
Importance can have different meanings. We’ll try to explain our thinking for you with each individual. In some cases, it’s about their ability on the field and the difficult the Dawgs would have in replacing that. Others could be important for reasons outside of that.
Yesterday, our attention was on defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse, who came in at No. 14 on the list. Today, it’s No. 13: junior wide receiver Dillon Bell.

The dynamic Dillon Bell is one of the most exciting players on Georgia’s roster, and he showed why that was last season. Headed into 2024, his potential is through the roof, and the ideas of what he’s capable of have UGA fans rightfully excited.
A two-year contributor for Georgia, Bell has played in all 29 games up to this point in his career. He started five as a freshman and finished with 20 catches for 180 yards and three touchdowns. As a sophomore, he topped all of those numbers with 29 receptions, 355 receiving yards, 25 carries, 157 rushing yards and four total touchdowns. Bell also threw for one as he started eight games and was used in a variety of ways.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound target of Carson Beck is best used as a wide receiver, and he should have more opportunities to do just that in 2024. Georgia’s running back room is deeper, and assuming they stay healthy, Bell won’t have to line up in the backfield. However, his capability to do so is a weapon.
Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo and this Georgia staff see Bell as the NCAA’s version of Deebo Samuel. He’s dynamic and capable of making plays in different ways. Expect to see Bell do just that this season.
