18-year-old killed in Thursday morning shooting; 17-year-old arrested
An 18-year-old man is dead following a shooting Thursday morning in Norfolk.
Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at a residence in the 500 block of Grantham Road, just off of West Little Creek Road in Wards Corner, at about 3 a.m. Officers at the scene found the victim, Branden M. Davis Jr., with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Davis later died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.
Investigators arrested a 17-year-old boy at the scene and charged him with reckless handling of a firearm causing injury and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
