Country singer Conner Smith’s recklessness was put on display before he killed a woman and a dog. The twenty-four-year-old hit Dorothy Dobbins, 77, on Sunday, June 8th, and she succumbed. So, what was he doing before this tragedy? Keep reading for more details.

It has been a great year for Conner Smith, as he performed at Stagecoach and his career was really taking off. Sadly, everything changed in the blink of an eye when he hit and killed 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins, as she was walking with a dog. She was crossing the road, and in a clearly marked crosswalk, when Conner’s Chevrolet Silverado struck Dorothy. Dorothy was soon taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. That was where she sadly passed away, and it has evidently been noted as an accident. Conner had no alcohol in his system, which bodes well for him.

However, a video of Conner being reckless while driving has emerged, and it paints him in a terrible light. As he is cruising in his car, he filmed himself singing. He had just one hand on the wheel, and it made him look as though he was not a careful driver or paying attention to what was in front of him. It is unclear if he had the phone or a filming device propped up in the passenger seat, or if someone was recording him. Either way, this is not what is needed right now.
Conner Smith just performed at CMA Fest, which was held in Nashville and boasted the best in the business. He also has 200K followers on social media, so he has a great following. As of now, it is said that he is cooperating with authorities. Sadly, the family of Dorothy Dobbins has lost someone very beloved:
“I’m devastated to share that my aunt, Dot Dobbins, was killed in an accident last night while walking her dog.”
She leaves behind four grandsons and was a famed cook among her family. Conner sent his heart out to her loved ones who have suffered.
