FC Arizona Bounce Back against Newcomer FCAZ Tucson

By FC Arizona
FC Arizona continued their 2024 season at Coyote Stadium with a 5-0 win against FCAZ Tucson.  The match that kicked off at 8:00 pm saw action packed scenes from the beginning as FC Arizona captain Marco Afonso opened the scoring at the fourth minute.
It wasn’t long before Justin Provenzano took a page out of his captain’s book and found the back of the net at the 13th minute.  In an amazing fashion, Provenzano found the back of the net just one minute later and again at the 41st minute to seal his hat trick before the end of the first half.
The score was 4-0 at halftime.

FCAZ Tucson came out strong in the second half with a couple of close calls that would ultimately be saved by the goalkeeper or cleared out at the line by an FC Arizona defender.  FCAZ Tucson was no match for FC Arizona, though, as Luis Gallegos would have his turn at placing the ball in the back of the net to give Arizona a 5-0 lead.
“This is exactly the way we needed to bounce back,” said head coach Alejandro Aguilar. “We need to continue to push ourselves, we have a great team, we have a great fan base, and we have great support from this organization. We want to reach new heights this season and we definitely have the potential to do so.”
Arizona continues their season with back-to-back matches in Glendale, California on Saturday, April 27th against Lions United FC and on Sunday, April 28th against Glendale Lions FC.
