The Next Episode of ‘South Park’ Will Bring Back Trump and Tackle ICE Raids

After last week’s headline-making season premiere, nobody knew what Trey Parker and Matt Stone would do on the next episode of South Park — least of all, Trey Parker and Matt Stone.Following a mock apology at San Diego Comic-Con, the duo admitted that they truly didn’t know what the follow-up show, which airs next Wednesday, would be about. Given their long history of contrarian politics, would Parker and Stone even bring the Donald Trump/Saddam Hussein mash-up character back, now that it’s been widely celebrated by the left and condemned by the right?Well, the South Park Studios YouTube account just released a trailer for next week’s episode, proving that it does, in fact, exist. Not only is South Park bringing Trump back, but the show will seemingly be further delving even further into the political hellscape that is 2025.For starters, Cartman seems to have snapped out of funk concerning the “death of woke” and is now presiding over some kind of school meeting, flanked by PC Principal, aka “Power Christian” Principal. “You can just shut-up Bebe, because you hate America, and you love abortions,” the newly slick Cartman shouts at his classmate. Seeing as how Cartman has a Bible by his side, and a “Park County School District” logo behind him, it sure seems as if the show is referencing the far right’s attempted takeover of school boards. And Cartman's unfortunate makeover is likely styled after conservative ghoul Charlie Kirk, who has now embraced the show's presumptive parody. Even more loaded is a scene in which Mr. Mackey tags along with a small army of masked ICE agents, which may or may not be a reference to Dr. Phil’s recent participation in ICE raids — although, to be fair, Mr. Mackey isn’t pure evil like that mustachioed quack. And we see Trump attending some sort of black-tie gala that’s being held in his honor, but he seems more interested in getting frisky with his date who is, of course, Satan.ICE raids have only gotten more frequent and brutal during Trump’s second administration, with the agency working tirelessly (and anonymously) to rid the country of octogenarian grandfathers and ensure that America’s schoolyards are covered in piss. But if right-wing viewers complain that South Park somehow changed after this episode, we should point out that this isn’t the first time that the show has taken on ICE.In Season 23’s “Mexican Joker,” Cartman reports Kyle to ICE, and he ends up in a horrific detention center full of children who have been separated from their families. The episode also works in a subplot about the Joker, because it was 2019. There’s also the possibility that all of the scenes in the new promo were totally fake, just like everything in the first Season 27 trailer.
