Man Assaulted, 2 Arrested For Retail Theft: Warrington Crime Report

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warrington Township Police Department reported the following arrests between Feb. 24 and March 3:March 3Police were called to Wegmans regarding a retail theft. Loss prevention personnel told police that a 35-year-old man from Philadelphia who was shopping for an Instacart order had selected various items, concealed some in reusable bags, and placed others in his cart. The store told police that while the man paid for the items associated with the Instacart order, he did not pay for the $200.82 worth of concealed merchandise and was subsequently stopped outside the store. The man was taken to the loss prevention office where officers placed him under arrest. He was transported to the station where he was processed and released. He is charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property.On Jan. 7, police responded to 1700 Street Road for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, the victim told police that he parked in between buildings Q and R to repair an appliance. The victim related that as he was about to get out of his vehicle, a man was banging on the window of his vehicle telling him to move. The victim then inside. Police said when he came out about ten minutes later the man approached him making threatening gestures. Police said after the victim got into his car, the man approached the vehicle, opened the door, grabbed the victim and threw him to the ground. The victim sustained heavy bruising to his hip, police said. The 23-year-old man from Lansdaleleft the scene prior to police arrival. He was arrested by police on March 3 and charged with simple assault and harassment.March 1While investigating an illegally parked car outside of the Wegmans store, police received a report of a retail theft in progress at the store. Loss prevention personnel told police that a 38-year-old woman from Warrington paid for a drink however stole $21.25 worth of merchandise. The woman was placed under arrest. A search of her possessions revealed narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The woman told police that she had parked her vehicle in the fire lane because she was unable to remove the ignition key. She was arraigned by Judge Hughes who set bail at $25,000 unsecured. She is charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.February 24Police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft. Upon arrival loss prevention told police that a 21-year-old man from Chalfont had concealed two steaks valued at $41.39. The man was placed under arrest and transported to the station where he was processed and released.
