Chase Elliott unveils paint scheme designed by patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Chase Elliott unveiled Tuesday his paint scheme for the Sept. 8 playoff race at Atlanta Motor Speedway as part of his foundation’s “DESI9N TO DRIVE” art collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Elliott’s No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet, as well as his fire suit, will feature designs from two cancer patients. Fans can enter an online sweepstakes for a chance to win Elliott’s race-worn gloves, fire suit and shoes, or a VIP Race Day Experience to meet the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion at a future race. All donations benefit the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s. The sweepstakes started Tuesday and end on Oct. 9.
The designs of Elliott’s car were sketched by 11-year-old Gavyn Giansiracusa and 13-year-old Logan Lee.

“After being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2022, Gavyn went through surgery, radiation and chemo treatments for the next year,” the press release stated. “His red, white and blue celebration design, depicted on Elliott’s Alpinestars racing shoes and on the No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet, showcases his love for music, fireworks and cake. It also features a fighter jet, sharing a passion for aviation with Elliott.
“Logan, now cancer free after being diagnosed with Leukemia in 2023, has his design depicted on Elliott’s Alpinestars racing suit and Arai helmet. It also features music, fireworks and cake with a red, white and blue colored theme.”
Chase Elliott gearing up for playoff run
The campaign precedes the Sept. 29 opening of the 2-million-square-foot Arthur M. Blank Hospital, which will become one of the largest children’s hospitals in the United States.
“The DESI9N TO DRIVE schemes are my favorite of the year and I always look forward to spending time with the patients before the race and hearing their stories and feeling their love for life,” Elliott said in a statement. “Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta does so much good for the local community and continues to expand their facilities. To partner at my home track with Atlanta-based NAPA makes this even more special.”
Elliott will be a part of the 16-driver postseason field courtesy of his victory at Texas back in April. He is coming off a P9 finish at Richmond this past Sunday. Elliott sits six points behind Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson for the regular season points lead with three races remaining.
