ITB Extra: Inside a successful Michigan visit for Top 100 WR Andrew Marsh
*** Top 100 Katy (Texas) Jordan wide receiver Andrew Marsh made an unofficial visit to Michigan yesterday. I’m told the visit went extremely well and that there is optimism around the program following his time in Ann Arbor. Marsh was the only 2025 target on campus, so he was able to spend extended time with Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy, who has continued to make him a top overall priority this cycle. Bellamy has been on Marsh for more than a year now, and the two have developed a really close bond. Remember, Bellamy is originally from the south, and he’s connected well with Marsh and his family on a personal level throughout the process.
*** This visit also gave Marsh an opportunity to spend time with new Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell. Moore has been very aggressive as a recruiter on visits, and this was no different as he met with both Marsh and his mother, who also made it to campus. Campbell has been increasingly involve in this recruitment as well. Both he and Bellamy went out to Marsh’s spring game during the evaluation period last month. Marsh has been to campus on multiple occasions now and feels comfortable with the people and environment.
*** Something that really caught my attention is the fact that Marsh actually participated in Michigan’s camp. This gave him another opportunity to work with Bellamy. I say another because this is actually his third time getting coaching from Bellamy. Remember, Marsh participated in Michigan’s satellite camp in Detroit last year, and he also returned to the BBQ at The Big House, where the wide receivers had a private workout with Bellamy. I’m told that Marsh performed extremely well, with one source close to the program describing him as a ‘freak show.’ On3 is the only service that has Marsh outside of the Top 100, which I disagree with.
*** So where does Michigan stand overall? Optimism with Marsh has continued to increase. While I’m still hesitant to get really excited, there is no doubt that Bellamy and company have Michigan right in the thick of things. Right now, Oklahoma seems to have the edge. The Sooners are set to get him on campus on June 21. Marsh is actually on his way to USC right now for an OV. He also has trips scheduled to Texas and Kentucky. And yes, NIL is another reason why I’m hesitant. Michigan is planning to get Marsh back in for an official visit in the fall. Marsh may take his decision into late fall, so there is plenty of time to go here.
