Top-200 EDGE Hayden Lowe talks Miami ahead of his weekend official visit: “I love the coaching staff there”
This upcoming weekend, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian four-star EDGE Hayden Lowe will be making his return to Coral Gables for the second time this year for his official visit with the Miami Hurricanes.
Over the last few months, Lowe and the Hurricanes have built a strong relationship, which has led to Miami establishing itself as one of the sought-after defenders top programs heading into the summer.
“I love the coaching staff there, and I have a great relationship with all of them,” Lowe told CaneSport. “I love the school, the academics, and the culture the team has. Also, the opportunity to come in and potentially start and play as a freshman early. Those are some of the main points that gravitated me to Miami and made me want to come back.”
On his return visit to Miami, Lowe, who is the No. 196-ranked prospect in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, is looking forward to reconnecting with Hurricanes defensive line coach Jason Taylor and a handful of the Canes staffers.
Lowe is also hoping to see what else, outside of football, Miami has to offer this upcoming weekend alongside his family as well.
“I definitely want to talk more ball with the coaches,” Lowe said. “Also, get a better feel for the campus and how student life is.”
Following his visit to Miami, the 6-foot-3, 227-pounder will take official visits to USC, Texas, Oregon, and Washington. These trips will play vital roles in Lowe’s eventual commitment as he takes an in-depth look at what each of his top programs has to offer.
“These trips are very important because I want to see what every school has to offer,” Lowe said. “I want to see what it’s like around the country, how each school operates, and what it’s like around the team. I’m looking forward to checking out Miami and seeing how it goes.”
When asked what a program would have to do to separate itself, Lowe quickly answered and said culture. If he feels as if a fit is great while on any of his visits, he isn’t afraid of shutting things down right away and locking in with that school.
“It’s all about culture,” Lowe explained. “If they have the right culture, then I will shut it down and commit.”
CaneSport’s take
Miami will have the chance to set the bar for Lowe, who is a priority target for the Hurricanes this cycle. At the moment, Lowe does not have a frontrunner in his recruitment and believes these official visits will help separate each program from one another.
