His Wife Admitted To An Emotional Affair With Her Cousin, Then Asked For A Divorce, But Now She’s Begging Him To Stay Married
Just three days before this 31-year-old man was set to move to Florida with his 28-year-old wife and their two small children, she dropped some awful news on him.
Their flights were booked, and all of their belongings, as well as their car, had already made it to the Sunshine State, so her timing was interesting for sure.
Right after he got home from work that fateful day, his wife started in on him, saying she was no longer in love with him and didn’t want to remain married.
She added that they no longer had a “spark” and that she’d spent years in misery. As if things couldn’t get any worse, then his wife admitted to having an emotional affair with her 22-year-old first cousin.
He was so upset and hurt that he went to stay at his dad’s house that evening. Over the phone, he let his wife know that she had until the day was over to cut her cousin off and stop speaking to him.
He threatened to file for divorce if she didn’t follow through, but his wife promised she would do what he asked, as she intended to fix their marriage for the sake of their children.
The following day, he arrived back at their home to discuss everything further and look through his wife’s phone.
He realized she had already trashed all of the messages with her cousin, but after going into his wife’s photo app on her phone, he could see the last photos she had pulled up were from a steamy shoot she did for him as a Valentine’s Day gift this year.
He questioned his wife about her deleted material, and she promised she didn’t want to keep any of the messages with her cousin.

After he brought up the photos, his wife said she wanted a reminder that she’s “more than just a mom.”
Knowing she was lying, he pushed his wife to be honest and said he could get the text message logs from their phone provider.
It was then his wife confessed that her cousin sent her a photo first, so she sent him a photo in response.
That made him feel even more devastated, so he packed up their kids and left to stay with his mom for a couple of days.
“At this point, I’m still in a ton of mental grief, confused and lost,” he said. “But I’m still willing to try to fix this because I truly love her and want our kids to be in a full home.”
“Over the next week, we barely talk unless it’s about the kids. She comes over to my mom’s to get the kids, and she takes them for the next week.”
“So I have a week to myself now at my mom’s. She emails me some divorce papers that she started to fill out, and I’m begging her not to do this, not to force this. But she doesn’t care.”
So there he was, alone at his mom’s house, completing the divorce paperwork while actively trying to get his wife to stick with him.
One day, his wife stated that she was actually going to pursue her cousin. Realizing it was time to give up the fight, he finished the paperwork and moved into a new rental house. His wife signed the papers, and that was it; they went on with their lives.
Oddly enough, his wife found out that he was talking to a woman he used to have a history with back when he was a teen, and his wife reached out to ask him about this.
He never did this while he was married, and he only reached out to this woman seeking support in his time of need.
He reminded his wife that he could talk to whoever he pleased, since they were in the middle of a divorce.
For the next few days, his wife kept nagging him about this other woman, and he eventually said he was in contact with her.
The day after his admission, his wife called him, insisting she missed him and no longer wanted the divorce.
He had already resolved to move on with his life, and given the insane plot twist with the cousin, it wasn’t practical for him to try to reconcile with his wife.
However, his wife will not leave him alone and is currently still pleading with him not to let the divorce move ahead, even though she’s the one who wanted that six weeks ago.
“I truly feel I cannot go back to that; she betrayed me with her COUSIN and abandoned me during the darkest time of my life,” he continued.
“But I still do love her and care for her, obviously, even though she destroyed everything we had built. My thing is, I’m struggling with guilt. I know I shouldn’t feel guilt, as I did nothing wrong in this scenario, but I feel guilty.”
He feels awful that his wife will suffer financially since she became a stay-at-home mom after they welcomed their first child. She has no ability to make money and no job to rely on.
He also feels bad for his children and like he gave up on them. While he can sit here and make a list of reasons why he should stay far away from his wife, his head is fighting with his heart.
“She wants me back, but it seems like it is not for the right reasons,” he explained. “Seems more of jealousy, knowing she’s going to struggle financially, and because I know she doesn’t want to live in our small hometown we grew up in, and she’s feeling upset we aren’t in Florida like we had planned originally.”
“Not because she loves me and wants to fix this.”
