One school is ‘a little ahead’ for 4-star safety Omarion Robinson with official visits approaching
Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview Magnet safety Omarion Robinson is set to announce his commitment on June 29. That will be a little less than a week after his final official visit ends.
This weekend, Robinson will officially visit LSU. On June 7, he will stay home and visit Arkansas. Oregon will have Robinson back on campus on June 14, then Oklahoma will host the four-star on June 21.
The Tigers, Ducks and Sooners are looking to knock the Razorbacks off the top of his list after the visits come to an end.
“Arkansas is a little ahead of the others,” Robinson told On3. “I have visited Arkansas around six times and it could be a great fit for me.
“They are a home-state school that shows a lot of love and the relationships I have with coach Marcus Woodson and coach Sam Pittman are what I like most. Both are great guys. Since coach Woodson got to Arkansas from Florida State, we have been talking a lot and building our relationship. We connected instantly and I know he is a great coach.
“Arkansas has that little edge, then the other three schools are right behind them.”
Robinson’s last visit this spring was to Baton Rouge. He will be back this weekend for his second trip to LSU. He has visited Norman and Eugene multiple times already. These visits will help the No. 303 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking finalize his decision.
“Relationships with the coaches, the development and the coaches I feel I can learn from for the next level are things I am looking for. The visits will mean a lot because I will learn more about the schools and the coaches. Each trip will carry a lot of weight for me.”
Robinson shares his thoughts on LSU, Oklahoma and Oregon
LSU: “LSU is DBU. They have had a lot of defensive backs drafted and I want to be part of a team like that. I talk to coach Jake Olsen a lot and we have a great relationship. He is a smart coach and we have a tight bond and I will see a lot more at LSU on this visit.”
OREGON: “Since Dan Lanning got to Oregon, the program has been going up, up and up. Oregon has great facilities and I really like coach Chris Hampton. We communicate a lot and I like everything about the school, the coaching staff and the program.”
OKLAHOMA: “I like how Oklahoma is big on God under coach Brent Venables. The coaches care about the players and they develop players on and off the field. Then coach Brandon Hall and I have known each other since my freshman year, so we have a real bond with each other.”
