The mother of Tennessee star Boo Carter has been accused of putting her son's college career at risk with a number of provocative posts on social media.
Carter is a defensive back for the Volunteers but his future in Knoxville has been mired in uncertainty over recent weeks.
The sophomore reportedly missed workouts earlier this summer, prompting team leaders to confront Carter.
Last week, coach Josh Heupel revealed that Carter had impressed him with his attitude but his exact role with the Vols this season remains unclear.
'We're taking it day to day at this point,' Heupel said. However, Carter's mom has now voiced her opinion on the matter and fans fear it may be in detriment to his career.
In a series of posts on online, she said she's 'never been a VOL FAN' and instead said: 'IM A BOO FAN'.

She also referenced the University of Colorado, a school that was heavily involved in the defender's recruitment prior to his Tennessee commitment.
'Bruh Deion [Sanders] got 8 players DRAFTED in 2025. LEGENDARY', she wrote.
In response to the post, someone commented: 'And didn't win s*** lol'. Carter's mom replied: 'they won games lol WTH the VOLS win?'
The same user replied: 'we made it to the playoffs! What do you mean! lol Deion nor Georgia did any better.
'Better be careful talking like this… you still gotta come to Neyland this year and some people don’t like that! You see what happen to Nico! if you ain’t all VOLS Tennessee fans don’t give a damn about you
As the argument continued, she eventually wrote: 'you think me not being a vol fan is not caring bout my kid lmao I’ll tell the ** who started the program I’m not a vol fan I’m my SON FAN!

In another post she said: 'But if it was boo it would be all over social media [laughing emoji] ok'. It's remains unclear what she was referring to.

She later added: 'I can't wait to Go! Fast!'
Some fans online suggested that it could be in reference to the arrest of Carter's teammate Chris Brazzell over the weekend.
The wide receiver was arrested - just weeks before the start of the season - on charges of speeding and driving with a suspended license.
A Tennessee spokesperson told Knox News: 'We are aware of the traffic stop involving Chris Brazzell II and have no further comment at this time'.
