Why Fans Think [Spoiler] Is Alive in Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again‘s opening scenes killed off a major character, which upset many fans. However, they have since begun speculating as to whether the character is really dead. Marvel Studios has a history of bringing back deceased characters in some form or another. For instance, Vision who died in Avengers: Infinity War was brought back as White Vision in WandaVision. As such, fans are wondering whether a resurrection could be on the cards for the fan-favorite character.
Is Foggy dead or alive in Daredevil: Born Again?
Foggy Nelson is currently dead in Daredevil: Born Again, after being killed by Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye.
However, Marvel Studios executive producer Brad Winderbaum confirmed that Foggy Nelson would return in Season 2, but without spoiling the manner in which the character would return. He confirmed this in an interview with Phase Zero’s Brandon Davis. Here, he also confirmed that Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page would return. Unlike Nelson, Page survived and moved from New York City to San Francisco.
As for how Foggy could return in Season 2, it could be via flashbacks. However, another way that Foggy Nelson could turn out to be alive in Daredevil: Born Again is if Marvel Studios adapts the story told in the comics in Daredevil Issues #82 and #87.
In Issue #82, Foggy Nelson seemingly died after being stabbed by multiple prison inmates, when visiting an imprisoned Matt Murdock. Murdock was in jail after being arrested on suspicion of being Daredevil. Matt could not do anything to save Foggy from being stabbed and stood helpless in his cell, hearing the fading heartbeat of his best friend.
Later in Issue #87, Nelson was revealed to have survived. The FBI managed to get him in time and have him treated and moved into witness protection. After being moved into witness protection, Nelson assumed a new identity.
Whether Marvel Studios decides to bring back Foggy Nelson in the present day for Season 2 or show him via flashbacks remains to be seen.
