Kroger shopper compares hot food bar to ‘women’s restroom’ fuming it ‘doesn’t look fresh’ and is ‘revolting’
A CUSTOMER has blasted Kroger for an aspect of its operations.
The frustrated fan also called out competitors like Whole Foods in their complaint, comparing the stores to each other.

After a seemingly negative experience in the restroom at their local Kroger and the hot food bar at a Whole Foods location, the customer argued the two were basically the same.
“There are few things more disgusting than the Whole Foods 14th St Atlanta hot bar — that would be the Monroe Ave Kroger’s women’s restroom,” they wrote in a post to X, formerly Twitter.
“WF Food bar is gross and minimal.”
The customer added that the food bar was “revolting” and “doesn’t look fresh.”
“Gross. WF is going down. Sad,” they continued.
While Whole Foods has yet to address the customer’s grievances, Kroger did swiftly reply to the claims about the condition of the women’s restroom.
“We are so very sorry for any frustrations with store conditions,” the company wrote back.
Kroger requested the customer provide more information through a private message to be shared with their leadership team.
It’s unclear if the issue was ever resolved.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
While complaints over the state of Kroger restrooms is uncommon, the brand has been encountering backlash for other reasons in June.
A customer recently threatened to boycott the chain over its digital coupon policies.
While at least 150 coupons can be loaded onto the Kroger app for use in-store or online through a Shopper’s Card, the customer claimed they were still unable to use theirs during a recent trip.
“The store staff was wonderful. It’s the stupid policies you have in place that made it so difficult,” they fumed.
“I’m not a big customer but now I won’t ever be a customer again.”
Coupons Denied at Kroger
Kroger has several rules about what digital and paper coupons are accepted when checking out. The U.S. Sun has compiled a short list of those that are denied below:
Expired coupons
Coupons presented on an app or mobile device
Coupons not obtained on Kroger’s website or app
Coupons that are copied, blurry, altered, or disproportionate
Coupons that have been already redeemed more than three times in one day
DOUBLE-CHARGE
A shopper also recently claimed they were double-charged using the Kroger mobile application while filing up their gas tank.
They were using one of the retailer’s 1,006 gas stations when they noticed the discrepancy.
It apparently “over drafted” their bank account twice, leading them to call out to Kroger and demand assistance.
Someone else claimed they were accidentally charged $12,000 for oranges.
Others cited issues with self-checkouts and long lines at Kroger.
A customer demanded the retailer “hire more people” after fleeing the store over long lines at the self-checkout area in their store.
Another told Kroger it “lost a customer” after “prices changed overnight” on a delivery order.
