17-Year-Old Charged with Attempted Murder and Armed Robbery in Chicago Shooting
A 17-year-old male juvenile stands accused in the attempted murder of a 19-year-old female, Chicago police disclosed yesterday. The young offender, whose identity is withheld due to his age, is charged with one felony count of attempted first-degree murder and one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm resulting in bodily harm. These weighty allegations follow the events of June 16, when, according to the Chicago Police Department, the male juvenile supposedly was one of the individuals responsible for the shooting and wounding of the young woman during a violent theft on the 3900 block of W. 21st Street.
The arrest, having been made yesterday, considerably close to where the incident is reported to have taken place, was in the 1800 block of S. Komensky Ave. A detention hearing has been scheduled for today, July 6 at the courthouse at 2600 S. California.
Police records indicate that the victim was forcibly relieved of her property before the assailant discharged their weapon and inflicted injury. The seriousness of the victim’s injuries has not been disclosed, and authorities have yet to release further details on the contextual circumstances surrounding the incident.
