Lurgan Road Bridge Slated For Replacement In Upper Makefield
UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 15 on a project to replace the Lurgan Road bridge over a branch of Pidcock Creek in Upper Makefield, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.The bridge is scheduled to be closed through late November with local access maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent. All traffic will be detoured during construction., according to PennDOT.Built in 1910, the 16-foot-long by 23-foot-wide single-span concrete encased steel I-beam bridge will be replaced with a single-span concrete box culvert. The structure carries an average of 971 vehicles per day.
