With a new season of American Idol, a new list of hopeful contestants are auditioning for the judges. Victor Solomon is one possible Idol, competing for a chance at the first round. However, some fans think they might have seen him somewhere before.

Solomon is originally from Illinois, having been born in Chicago and growing up in Peoria. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
Solomon is also expected to appear on Season 23 of American Idol. However, many television fans might already find him familiar.

As shared by TV Insider, Solomon previously appeared on another singing competition series, The Voice. He appeared back in 2021. At the time, he received chair turns from Nick Jonas, John Legend, and Blake Shelton.
Ultimately, Solomon chose Legend as his coach. During the live playoffs, Solomon received the highest number of votes out of the four remaining artists on Legend’s team.
Ultimately, Solomon ended up in fifth place. Cam Anthony, who was part of Blake Shelton’s team, ended up winning the season.
Solomon Also Talked About How The Voice Prepared Him For American Idol
Previously, on Instagram, Solomon shared a carousel post where he wished Legend a “happy birthday,” complete with photos and videos from his time on the show. As he shared, “Thank you for being a great coach and giving me the opportunity of a lifetime!”
“From hitting your button for me while singing your song for the FIRST TIME, to allowing me the opportunity to sing with you on tour! You have made a lot of my dreams come true man. Thank you for keeping in touch as well!! Much appreciated! Enjoy ya day COACH!!”
More recently, Solomon also teased his upcoming appearance on American Idol with a post another Instagram post. As the caption wrote, “Y’all ready?? Tune in this Sunday, March 16th to [American Idol] on ABC and Hulu!!!”
In addition, Solomon also recently spoke with 25 News Now, where he teased what fans could expect from him on American Idol. Without revealing too much, he shared, “I will tell you one song I did: I did ‘Hello’ by Lionel Richie in front of Lionel Richie. The audition process was nerve-racking, crazy, and outside of my comfort zone.”
“No matter what happens, I think America is going to love my journey and appreciate it. And you know I am just excited to see what happens after.”
Solomon also touched on how his time on The Voice has prepared him for American Idol. As he noted, “What I learned on The Voice was that song choice is very important. When you’re in these singing competition shows, everyone on that show can sing, so you have to [think] ‘how do we stand out besides the actual singing that we do.”
