Wendy Williams has made a lot of headlines in recent months, with much of it centered around her ongoing battle to end her guardianship. According to the latest updates making the rounds, Williams is allegedly refusing medical testing. So, what do we know about this ongoing situation?
Wendy Williams Is Fighting To End Her Guardianship
Since May of 2022, Wendy Williams has been living under a legal guardianship. This type of arrangement makes it so others are in charge of overseeing her finances, as well as matters related to her health. Williams currently resides in a luxury assisted living facility in New York.
While she is a resident there, cognitive issues of hers are being addressed, including her dementia diagnosis, which she received in 2023. Even so, Wendy Williams is in an ongoing fight to end this guardianship, as sources claim the TV personality did not fully realize that many of her rights would be taken away, including things like access to the internet or a cell phone.

Williams Refusing Medical Testing Amid Ongoing Struggle?
Based on the latest updates surrounding Wendy Williams, it seems she is refusing medical testing. According to her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, she claims that Williams has refused to participate in any and all medical tests.
Morrissey went on to add: “Medical testing, including an MRI brain scan and neuropsychological assessment, had been scheduled for Ms. Williams. The Court directed that the testing be completed in March. Ms. Williams has declined to participate in the testing to date and therefore, the testing was not completed.”
In a statement, Morrissey continued, adding: “The parties are not able to address the concerns that have been expressed to the media without the testing. Once Ms. Williams undergoes the testing and a full evaluation, the results will inform the next steps for Ms. Williams’ care.”
Another source recently told PEOPLE: “Sabrina is ready to reschedule the scans and appointments as soon as Wendy is ready to participate.”

Wendy Williams Paints A Completely Different Picture Of Recent Events
While claims made by Wendy Williams’ guardian allege that the TV personality has refused medical testing, the way that Wendy tells it, she paints a completely different picture of recent events. During a #FreeWendy rally outside of her facility, Williams commented on this recent situation, and she told a completely different narrative.
According to Wendy Williams, she said: “I don’t know anything about that.” She then added: “Bullsh**. I am open to what I am open to and I can’t talk about it right now.”
In addition to this, Willams has recently denied claims that she is in any way incapacitated. She said previously: “I am fabulous. I’m better than good, but have been accused [of] being otherwise.” Williams went on to add: “I am very much alive. I deserve freedom, darling.”
Williams has also spoken out about her current living situation, saying: “I am not cognitively impaired, but I feel like I am in prison. I’m in this place with people who are in their 90s and their 80s and their 70s. These people, there’s something wrong with these people here on this floor. I am clearly not.”
