2027 RB Brayton Feister Has Kentucky Connections With Recent Offer
Brayton Feister earned his fourth college offer earlier this month and it’s a program he knows well. Kentucky associate head coach Vince Marrow extended Feister an offer during his school’s end-of-year showcase after an impressive performance.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound running back and linebacker from Archbishop Hoban (Akron, OH) told KSR+ that Kentucky is recruiting him at the running back position. Feister told KSR+ that he’s very familiar with UK’s new running back Chip Trayanum, a Hoban alumnus.
“His transfer is pretty recent, so we haven’t really had the chance to talk about Kentucky,” Feister said. “Usually, the alums will come back to the school and talk to us during workouts, but he hasn’t had the time to do so yet.”
As for his own offer, Feister called the experience “incredible.” He’s still getting used to the recruiting process as he is only a freshman.
“I was ecstatic to be able to pull that off,” Feister said. “It’s every kid’s dream to have a scholarship from a Division 1 school.”
Feister said Marrow talked with him about a visit. They didn’t discuss a date.
“I definitely plan on taking one,” he said. “Probably [in the summer] or in the season. Being able to check out a game would be pretty cool.”
Brayton wasn’t the only member of the Feister family to receive an offer from Kentucky at the showcase. His younger brother, 2028 linebacker Brydon Feister, added one as well.
“We’re all different people, we all like different things, and we’re all different for a reason. We all have our own paths to create,” Brayton said. “If our paths intertwine and we get to play at the same school, that would be great and amazing. If it doesn’t, then we’re still going to cheer each other on, focus, and grind out.”
His Wider Recruitment
Kentucky joins Miami of Ohio, Toledo, Akron, and Wisconsin as the schools to offer 2027 running back Brayton Feister. He’s also planning to camp at Ohio State and Oklahoma.
“It’s been awesome,” Feister said. “I’m talking to all kinds of different coaches at all kinds of different schools. It gets your heart pumping and you get very excited. It’s different.”
Feister has several things he’s taking into consideration. Those include atmosphere, coaching, academics, tradition, diversity, and more.
“I want to be able to have a smooth football career mixed in with a smooth academic career,” he said. “Tradition is huge. I like tradition. Then, diversity. I want to see all kinds of different people from different backgrounds be successful.”
Brayton Feister’s Game
2027 running back Brayton Feister of Archbishop Hoban (OH) is not currently ranked by the On3 Industry Ranking. He has high praise for his game.
“I can have the size and strength of Derrick Henry, but move like Christian McCaffery,” Feister said. “I have open-field moves, can make stiff arms, and can run over someone when I need to.”
Moving forward, Feister is looking to improve every aspect of his game. Two areas in particular are his speed and strength.
“I want to keep getting faster and faster,” he said. “I ran a 4.61 last year, so I want to get faster and faster. I’m about 226 [pounds], but I want to be around 230 heading into the season.”
