Dynamic underclassmen recruit with Notre Dame offer to attend Irish Invasion
When Notre Dame’s annual Irish Invasion high school football camp commences on Sunday, about 25 rising sophomores are expected to be in attendance. Among them will be the only 2027 recruit with a Notre Dame offer.
On Wednesday, Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne athlete Jamier Brown told Blue & Gold he will participate in Notre Dame’s unpublicized prospect camp. The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder will compete as a wide receiver. His mother, grandmother and two uncles will all accompany him on his visit to South Bend.

“I’m going up to Notre Dame to show everyone what I can do on the field and to show I’ve gotten better over the offseason,” Brown told Blue & Gold. “I want to show everyone I’m more than just speed on the field.
“I’m a hard worker and ready to compete. I want to show everyone what I can do against the best of the best.”
Although he would like to prove he has more dimensions to his game than speed, Brown should not shy away from his track accolades.
In mid-March, Brown won the 60-meter dash at the Adidas Indoor Nationals Championship Finals with a 6.81-second mark. His 6.75 in the same event at the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches championships on March 1 was the best time among all high school freshmen in the nation.
This spring, he clocked a 10.56-second time in the 100-meter dash and a 21.52 in the 200. Those marks rank No. 5 and 10 nationally among freshmen, respectively. He also reports a 4.31-second 40-yard dash.
Brown attends the same high school that produced Irish coach Marcus Freeman and defensive backs coach Mike Mickens. They played together for three seasons.
Mickens offered Brown a scholarship on behalf of the Irish on Feb. 1 — about one month before his terrific track times and three months after he finished an impressive freshman football season. During the fall, he had three games with at least 50 yards receiving while also amassing several kick return touchdowns.
Central Michigan, UMass, Toledo and Penn State all offered during his freshman campaign. Marshall, Purdue, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Eastern Michigan and Nebraska have all offered since.
Although On3 and the other three primary recruiting media services have not yet rated 2027 prospects, Brown projects as a four-star prospect with five-star potential. He will look to put that on display in South Bend on Sunday.
