Update v31.30 has just launched in Fortnite bringing with it a number of improvements for players.
One of the major changes that people are talking about is the introduction of a number of new parental controls.
A new feature that’s been added to Fortnite will not only allow you to monitor your children’s play time, but also add limits to it.
Even if your child has various devices that they play Fortnite on, you can limit their play time across all platforms.
The first thing you need to do is turn on Time Reports in the Epic Account Portal.
These reports allow you to see how long your child is playing Fortnite, and at what times they are playing.
This will let you assess how much your children play and whether you would like to limit their playtime.
If you want to take the next steps towards monitoring your child’s playtime, you can also do this through the Account Portal.
You will find the time limit controls via the Parental Controls option in the sidebar on the left.
From here, you can add time windows that decide between what times your child can play each day.
This can be helpful if you have things like dedicated study or activity times when you want your child to remain focused.
You can also add a time limit for how long your child is allowed to play the game each day.
Parental controls also allow your child to ask for an extension to their playtime if they are running short, but you can also disable this.
When your child has just 30 minutes left for that day, they will get a pop-up that will allow them to send you a message requesting more time.
From here you can decide to allow them to extend their playtime by a certain period or not.
If you think they are using the function too often, you can also turn off the option for them to request more time.
The new features will give parents a lot more control over when and how long their children play.
