Ohio State football has sold its most season tickets in at least 15 years
A special fall could be upon us in Columbus. Buckeyes fans are well aware. That’s why it’s no surprise that, according to The Columbus Dispatch, Ohio State football has sold its most season tickets in at least 15 years ahead of the 2024 campaign.
Ohio State has sold 56,998 season tickets, Dispatch‘s Joey Kaufman reported, citing Brett Scarbrough, the school’s senior associate athletic director for ticketing and premium seating. That number doesn’t include student tickets.
For reference, two years ago, Ohio State reset the standard with 56,484 non-student season tickets sold — at the time, the program’s most since 2009 — according to the Dispatch. But now the Buckeyes have one-upped themselves. Like the 2022 regular season, though, the 2024 regular season will feature eight Ohio State home games, whereas, for instance, the 2023 regular season had an even six-game home/away split.
Here’s a refresher of who Ohio State’s scheduled to play at home this year…

That group of games is, of course, headlined by an always-highly-anticipated showdown versus Michigan. Not only are the Wolverines reigning national champs, but they’ve also beat the Buckeyes three years in a row for the first time since 1995-97.
The pressure is on for head coach Ryan Day to get the monkey off his back and defeat Michigan for the first time since 2019. Even more so at home considering that two seasons ago Ohio State lost to the Wolverines in “the ‘Shoe” — that hadn’t happened since 2000.
While the Buckeyes’ non-conference slate is nothing to get too excited about — they host Akron, Western Michigan and Marshall their first three games of the season — the prospect of seeing this 2024 team in action is getting a lot of Ohio State fans fired up.
After all, this Buckeyes crew is widely described as the most talented since at least the 2019 iteration of the program.
What commitment of Jarquez Carter means for Ohio State
Three-star Newberry (Fla.) defensive lineman Jarquez Carter committed to Ohio State Thursday evening. Carter is currently the No. 403 overall prospect, and No. 36 D-Lineman, in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s also the 24th commit for a second-ranked Buckeyes recruiting class.
Lettermen Row broke down what Carter’s pledge means for Ohio State, including how longtime defensive line coach Larry Johnson continues to have himself a bounce-back effort this recruiting calendar. After reeling in only three D-Line last time around, he’s already got six commits in the 2025 class. Keep in mind, the last time he had six signees in one class was 2018.

Lorenzo Styles Jr. switched positions, then redshirted — now he’s ready to make plays on defense
Lorenzo Styles Jr. actually switched from wide receiver to defensive back while he was at Notre Dame. Then he transferred to Ohio State, where his younger brother Sonny Styles plays and where his dad Lorenzo Styles Sr. made his mark as a linebacker in the ’90s.
That’s not where the transition stopped for Lorenzo Jr., however. He also redshirted last season after playing 500 offensive snaps the year prior, per Pro Football Focus. That was quite the change for the one-time Pickerington Central standout.
But Lorenzo Jr., who has since started to carve out a role behind Jordan Hancock at the “nickel” corner spot, remained patient. Now he’s ready to make plays for the Ohio State defense.
