ONE of Coronation Street's most popular characters looks set to be left for dead in upcoming scenes.
PC Craig Tinker - played by Colson Smith - will meet his demise in grisly scenes next week with a brand new promo for the programme, showing him bloodied and bruised.
<p>A shock new Coronation Street promo shows a battered and bloodied Craig (Colson Smith) laid unconscious on the cobbles after a vicious attack.</p>
<p>As DS Swain’s (Vicky Myers) emotional voiceover asks us “If we knew today was our last day on earth, what would we do differently" has PC Tinker reached the end of the thin blue line?</p>
<p>In a special week of episodes following the stories of both Craig and DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) we’ll uncover the secrets surrounding Mick’s (Joe Layton) hold on Kit as his past comes back to haunt him, leaving both his friends and family in grave danger.</p>
<p>The week starts with an excited Craig ready to begin his placement shadowing Kit in CID. But while Kit has his own agenda to take care of, a series of climactic events unfold on the street, culminating in a shocking and horrific incident. The voice of DS Swain can be heard once again as she chillingly says: “There isn’t always more time.”

Speaking about his exit scenes, Colson said: “I can’t wait for people to see Craig’s final scenes.
"It is exactly the exit I wanted for him and we are all really proud of what we filmed in those final weeks. It was actually great fun. #
"I was walking around covered in fake blood for days and I was chuffed that I got to work with so many brilliant people in this final storyline.”
It was revealed earlier this year that Colson had been axed from the ITV soap amid a string of high-profile exits.

It looks set to have a huge impact on the street
The star confirmed it was not his choice to leave the show but understood soap bosses' decision.
Colson confirmed that he was told he would be written out of the show after being told of the news in Autumn 2024.
The actor wrote on Instagram: "Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinker's time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025.
"I've loved every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the greatest street in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street.
"I've learned pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home.
"I'm excited to play out the exit story for our Craigy. For me, this is the end of the beginning.
