Plenty of network shows airing during the 2024–2025 season are being held for midseason, including Suits: L.A. and Will Trent, meaning they will premiere during the first few months of 2025. A plethora of exciting new TV series are expected to air from January to March. Meanwhile, multiple highly anticipated new seasons of established network shows will arrive in the new year, giving TV fans much to look forward to in 2025.
Of course, dramas, sitcoms, and more that started airing in late 2024 are also returning from their winter breaks. The Abbott Elementary and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia crossover will debut in early January; ABC's new hit police procedural series High Potential also returns with episode 8 in January; and 9-1-1 season 8 resumes in March following Eddie's exit cliffhanger. However, for those missing shows that have been off the air for too long or looking forward to new stories, network TV has a lot in store regarding these particular series at the beginning of 2025.

Suits L.A.
Release Date: February 23
Suits: L.A. is, without a doubt, the most highly anticipated network TV show of 2025. Following the resurgence of Suits on Netflix in 2023, NBC made the easy decision to continue the story with a new set of characters working at an entertainment law firm in Los Angeles, California. Aaron Korsh, the creator and longtime showrunner of Suits, resumes his behind-the-scenes roles for the spinoff. Meanwhile, the cast of Suits: L.A. includes Stephen Amell as Ted Black, Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, Lex Scott Davis as Erica Rollins, and Bryan Greenberg as Rick Dodsen.

Since Suits: L.A. takes place in the same universe as Suits, many expect to see characters from the original series appear in the new one. The good news is that Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter in the USA Network legal drama, is confirmed to guest star in Suits: L.A. As for what Harvey is doing in Los Angeles or how he's connected to Amell's Ted, fans must watch the spinoff to learn more. Suits: L.A. premieres on Sunday, February 23, at 9 pm ET on NBC.

Alexi Hawley's police procedural returns with new episodes after a seven-month hiatus. Unfortunately, the cast of The Rookie season 7 will be down a member as Tru Valentino, who portrayed Aaron Thorsen, is exiting the series ahead of the premiere on Tuesday, January 7, at 10 pm ET on ABC.

Based on The Rookie season 7 trailer, Tim Bradford will likely be one of their training officers. Elsewhere in the upcoming episodes, the characters struggle to find Oscar Hutchinson and Jason Wyler following their prison escape in the season 6 finale. John Nolan and Bailey Nune's adoption storyline will likely continue. Finally, Tim and Lucy Chen try to handle working with one another in the wake of their breakup (and perhaps reconcile their romance).

The Conners Season 7
Release Date: March
The Conners is sadly coming to an end, but a handful of episodes remain in the Roseanne spinoff before fans must say goodbye. Season 7 of the ABC sitcom is expected to debut in March 2025. Unfortunately, the network hasn't announced an exact release date as of the writing of this article, but it will reportedly be in the spring. What is known is that The Conners season 7 will consist of six episodes and is being described as a "farewell event."

Hunting Party
Release Date: February 3
Another new network TV show coming in 2025 is The Hunting Party on NBC. The procedural crime drama, created by JJ Bailey, follows a group of law enforcement officers who come together to find and capture convicted killers who have recently escaped from prison. However, all the escapees originate from a top-secret prison that "isn't supposed to exist," based on The Hunting Party's logline (per Deadline).
Melissa Roxburgh (who many will recognize from her main role as Michaela in the Manifest cast) leads the cast of The Hunting Party as Rebecca "Bex" Henderson, an FBI agent. Other stars include Patrick Sabongui as Ryan Hassani (a CIA agent), Sara Garcia as Jennifer Morales (an Army Intelligence officer), Josh McKenzie as Shane Florence (a prison guard), and Nick Wechsler as Oliver Odell (Bex's former FBI partner). Together, they form the aforementioned team tasked with catching dangerous convicts in The Hunting Party. The new series premieres on Monday, February 3, at 10 pm ET on NBC.

Shifting Gears
Release Date: January 8
Tim Allen and Kat Dennings return to the sitcom world in Shifting Gears, a new ABC comedy series. Allen (of Home Improvement and Last Man Standing fame) stars as Matt Parker, a widower who reconnects with his estranged daughter, Riley (played by Dennings from 2 Broke Girls), when she and her children move in with him. Other cast members include Seann William Scott as Gabriel, Daryl Mitchell as Stitch, Maxwell Simkins as Carter, Barrett Margolis as Georgia, and Jenna Elfman as Eve.
Shifting Gears premieres on Wednesday, January 8, at 8 pm ET on ABC.
During an interview with Screen Rant, Allen previews his character in Shifting Gears. The star also teases that Matt has a son who won't get introduced until later on in the sitcom (and the actor playing him is unknown). Allen revealed:
"My [Shifting Gears] character, Matt Parker, went to Rhode Island School of Design, and on his way to school, his dad had a massive heart attack. He had to come back to North Hollywood to take over the business and never became a designer. He never followed his dream, so there's that little frustration [about] what my life could have been. I had two kids—one's in the Navy, who we’ll meet later—and then Kat Dennings, [who is] wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. She plays my daughter, who left in high school. I wanted a contentious relationship with her, all while my wife, the love of my life, went out jogging and had a heart attack and died. It sounds like a terrible tragedy, and it is. Somehow, this guy saved a sense of humor and turned into a crotchety [man]. We're dealing with grief as it comes out. Then, his daughter comes back in his life and needs a place to stay. It's just the wrong time, but he says yes anyway."

Watson
Release Date: January 26
Another take on Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories is coming to CBS in 2025, but this time, the focus is on Dr. John Watson. Morris Chestnut (from Rosewood, The Resident, and more) stars as the titular character in Watson. Meanwhile, his castmates include Eve Harlow as Ingrid Derian, Peter Mark Kendall as Stephens Croft and Adam Croft, Inga Schlingmann as Sasha Lubbock, Ritchie Coster as Shinwell Johnson, and Rochelle Aytes (who left the S.W.A.T. season 8 cast for Watson) as Mary Morstan.
According to TV Insider, Watson episode 2 will debut on Sunday, February 16, three weeks after the pilot, at 9 pm ET, which will be the show's timeslot moving forward.
Watson's story takes place one year after Moriarty killed Sherlock Holmes and begins with Watson opening the "Holmes Clinic" in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Chestnut's character commits himself to his practice. However, when he learns that Moriarty might still be alive, everything changes for Watson. The CBS medical crime drama premieres on Sunday, January 26, at 10 pm ET.

Doc
Release Date: January 7
Fox is releasing a new medical drama — Doc — in early January 2025. The upcoming network series is based on the Italian TV show Doc — Nelle tue mani, which premiered in 2020 and has aired three seasons and 48 episodes. Doc (the American version) stars Molly Parker as Dr. Amy Larsen, the chief of internal medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Doc is inspired by Dr. Pierdante Piccioni's true story (per Collider). Dr. Piccioni was the chief of a hospital ER in Italy who lost his memory of the last 12 years of his life following a car accident.
At the beginning of the series, Amy is in a car accident and suffers a brain injury. As a result, she gets amnesia and forgets everything that happened in the past eight years, which takes a tremendous toll on her personal and work life. Aside from Parker, the rest of the Doc cast includes Omar Metwally as Dr. Michael Hamda, Amirah Vann as Dr. Gina Walker, Jon-Michael Ecker as Jake Heller, Anya Banerjee as Sonya Maitra, and Scott Wolf as Richard Miller. Doc premieres on Tuesday, January 7, at 9 pm ET on Fox.

There are a few things fans should remember before the NCIS: Sydney season 2 premiere. For starters, the season 1 finale revealed that Richard Rankin was connected to JD's son's kidnapping. However, Rankin won't be the only antagonist the team must deal with in season 2 as Ana Niemus escaped in the previous episode. So, much is at stake for the characters in NCIS: Sydney season 2.

Will Trent Season 3
Release Date: January 7
Will Trent, one of network TV's hottest dramas, debuts its third season in 2025 following a seven-month hiatus. As fans will recall, Will Trent season 2 ended in a cliffhanger with Will going missing. To back things up a bit, the finale began with Will and his team searching for a serial killer targeting pedophiles. They learned that Crystal, the teenager Angie took under her wing after she murdered Lenny, was the killer. Angie tried to reason with her. However, when Crystal ran away from the detective, she slipped and fell, hitting her head hard. Crystal died and Angie was left to pick up the pieces.

Will Trent season 3, which premieres on Tuesday, January 7, at 8 pm ET on ABC, also features a couple of new faces — Gina Rodriguez as ADA Marion Alba and Scott Foley as Dr. Seth McDale.
