Texas targets officially visiting other schools June 7-9 weekend
Texas only has six visitors expected on campus this weekend. Now, they’re all studs and takes, but the modest amount of Texas targets on campus means many of them will be elsewhere this weekend.
Texas A&M and USC in particular have a lot of crossover targets expected in College Station and Los Angeles respectively.
Let’s take a look.
Alabama
Nick Townsend, TE, Spring (Texas) Dekaney: Per people I’ve talked to it sounds like Alabama will be the biggest hurdle but then from others I’ve heard A&M is right there as well. Texas is a constant but there’s still plenty of work left to do.
(TE Kiotti Armstrong is scheduled to be at Auburn midweek next week)
Florida
John Mills, OL, San Francisco (Calif.), St. Ignatius College Preparatory: The giant 16-year-old was at Washington last weekend. Now he goes clear cross country to Gainesville.
LSU
Dakorien Moore, WR, Duncanville (Texas) – Visit started Thursday. Real visit or sympathy visit? LSU is bringing out the big guns regardless.

Texas A&M
Kelshaun Johnson, WR, Hitchcock (Texas): Aggies don’t have much of a read on this recruitment. I’m not sure anyone does at this point.
Kaliq Lockett, WR, Sachse (Texas): LSU made some noise last weekend, can A&M do the same? I like Texas right now.
Michael Fasusi, OT, Lewisville (Texas): You just know A&M is going to do all it can to win at least one major head to head against Texas.
Lamont Rogers, OT, Mesquite (Texas) Horn: A&M needs a stud left tackle. Rogers also likes Texas and Missouri.
Ty Haywood, OT, Denton (Texas) Guyer: I have no read on this one. Stud player.
Marco Jones, Edge, Danville (Calif.) San Ramon Valley: He talks to A&M’s football and baseball staffs and might play both in college.
Jonah Williams, S, Galveston (Texas) Ball: He’s not a lock to A&M.
Ohio State
Damien Shanklin, EDGE, Indianapolis (In.) Warren Central: Sentiment seems to lean towards LSU at the moment. UT will need a big visit later in the month. He’s open to leaving the upper midwest so that’s a start.
USC
Andrew Marsh, WR, Katy (Texas) Jordan: All the receiver talk has seemingly shifted away from Marsh and towards Lockett.
Daylan McCutcheon, WR, Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy: He’s still under consideration for a push from the staff.
Nick Brooks, OL, Cedar Rapids (Iowa) John F. Kennedy: Iowa missing on Kadyn Proctor (twice) and Brooks might be what gets Kirk Ferentz fired. Just kidding.
Hayden Lowe, Los Angeles (Calif.) Oaks Christian: Oregon has also recently dialed up the heat. USC is right there but UCLA might have the best chance as of right now.
Riley Pettijohn, LB, McKinney (Texas): Ohio State last week, USC this week. Just need to weather these next couple weeks before getting him back on campus.
Dorian Brew, CB, Conroe (Texas): USC might lead.
Miami
Jaime Ffrench, WR, Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin: Visit begins next Tuesday. LSU took a crack at him last week. I still like Texas.
Derry Norris, DL, Port Orange (Fla.) Spruce Creek: He’s one to watch for an official visit to Texas. It’s still not set up, however.
Notre Dame
Madden Faraimo, LB, San Diego (Calif.) J Serra Catholic: Nobody knows anything on this kid. For now, I’ll assume he’s The Nansen West Coast Steal we’ve been predicting since he was hired. He’ll be in for Texas’ big June 21-23 weekend.
