Jefferson Ave. Naperville, IL 60540 / Bring your little one to learn about safety, sit in a squad car, and meet a real-life Naperville Police Officer. This is the first of three story times featuring a Naperville Police Officer that will be held this fall! The next opportunity is Oct. 11 at 10:30AM at the Naper Blvd. Library, followed by Oct. 18 at 10:30AM at the 95th Street Library.
Oktoberfest at Naper Settlement / 5-10PM at Naper Settlement – 523 S. Webster St. Naperville, IL 60540 / Traditional German cuisine and beer will be overflowing in a giant heated tent, with lively Oompah music on Friday and a mix of Oompah music, modern polka, pop, R&B, and yacht rock on Saturday. Enjoy one of the largest Oktoberfest beer varieties in the area and German food from local restaurants and food trucks. Ghost Stories in the Park…in the Dark / 7PM / Start the Halloween season with spine-shivering stories at Ghost Stories in the Park…in the Dark from Fri., Oct 4 to Sun., Oct. 6. The community is invited to join the Park District and the ghastly storytellers from Summer Place Theatre outdoors at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion as they share an evening of scary stories. Tickets for the performances are $7 and may be purchased over the phone, online at naperparks.org or during regular business hours at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center or Fort Hill Activity Center. Stories are recommended for adults and children ages 5 and up.

Dracula Blood Drive / 9AM to 1:30PM at Naperville Woman’s Club – 14 South Washington Street / BrightSide Theatre, in honor of its season-opening production of the play DRACULA, is co-sponsoring a blood drive with the Naperville Women’s Club and the Versiti Blood Center of Illinois. The legendary vampire of Transylvania will make a rare daylight appearance in the form of the actor Danny Parrott, who will play the blood-thirsty Count in BrightSide’s production, to greet donors and thank them for their donations. (Prospective donors can rest assured he will not be actually extracting their donations). Persons interested in donating blood can register in advance and schedule a time at donate.illinois.versiti.org. Anyone donating blood will be given a $5 discount code for tickets to BrightSide’s DRACULA.
