Glendale Police Seek Public's Help in Late-Night Fatal Robbery Attempt Investigation
In a late-night incident in Glendale, a would-be robbery turned deadly, resulting in the search for a shooter who acted in apparent self-defense. The Glendale Police Department has confirmed they are looking for two individuals who were involved in what is believed to be a robbery attempt gone wrong on the night of July 7th, around 10:40 PM, on East Dryden Street.
Misplaced and surrounded by the darkness of night, gunshots echoed, leading residents to call 911, moments before the Glendale Police discovered a man laying motionless on the road. According to Glendale's official news release, this individual, who is suspected to have attempted the robbery, suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was declared deceased at the scene.
The police's preliminary review suggests that the shooter, along with a passenger, was in a white-colored SUV and was targeted by the decedent. As told by KTLA 5’s Erin Myers, "all we know is that potentially a white SUV may have been involved," with the Glendale Police Department's Vahe Abramyan highlighting the current limits on their information.
A loaded gun, found on the road near the deceased man, indicates preparedness for violence, recovered by officers when they arrived at the scene, driven by the urgent flooding of 911 calls. Though having fled before police engagement, the occupants of the SUV have been asked to step forward by the authorities to aid in the unfolding narrative. The search for the involved parties continues, as reported by the FOX LA.
Currently, there is no conclusive description of the shooter or their passenger, nor has there been a definitive motive established for the incident.
