Peacemaker Season 2: DCU Show Has Surprise Cameos, Post-Credits Scenes, & More
DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has shared several new details about Peacemaker Season 2.
Gunn recently responded to some fan questions on the social media platform Threads, where he divulged exciting new details about the forthcoming second season of the hit HBO Max superhero series. Gunn revealed that the sixth and eighth episodes of Season 2, the latter of which doubles as the season finale, are his favorite episodes this season. The DC head also confirmed that, like Season 1, Season 2 would feature a post-credits scene at the end of each episode.
However, the biggest reveal was that fans could expect more “surprise cameos” in Peacemaker Season 2. Interestingly, the fan asked Gunn if there might be cameos from “future or past projects,” which received an “Oh yes” reply from the studio head.
DC Universe projects that are confirmed to be released within a year after Peacemaker Season 2 include Lanterns, Supergirl, and Clayface, while past projects include Creature Commandos and Superman. There’s also a chance that characters from Gunn’s DC Extended Universe projects — The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker Season 1 — could reappear to establish them in the new DCU canon.

Confirmed cameos for Peacemaker Season 2
At the time of writing, returning characters confirmed to have either cameos or small roles in the new season of Peacemaker include Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner, Sean Gunn’s Maxwell Lord, and Nhut Le’s Judomaster.
Other returning DC alumni include John Cena as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Steve Agee as John Economos, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith/White Dragon, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., while Sol Rodríguez, Tim Meadows, and Michael Rooker join the DCU as Sasha Bordeaux, Langston Fleury, and Red St. Wild, respectively.
Peacemaker Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max on August 21, 2025.
