All these subtle signs hint at who Belly will end up with in The Summer I Turned Pretty finale

The Summer I Turned Pretty has always been filled with Easter eggs and subtle hints, whether through colour themes, song choices, or even little details like posters on the walls. Thanks to Jenny Han, this season is no different. The music and colours used feel both quiet and loud at the same time, sending one clear message: Belly and Conrad are meant to be together, just like in the books.
In Jenny Han’s original trilogy, Belly marries Conrad years after calling off her wedding to Jeremiah. Now, although Jenny Han has said the show’s ending will be different from the book, all the Easter eggs this season seem to tell a different story.
So, here are all the subtle signs hinting at who Belly will end up with in The Summer I Turned Pretty season three finale:
The significance of red and blue
via Amazon Prime
One of the most obvious clues is the colour of Belly’s clothes. When she’s with Conrad, she often wears red, the colour of passion and deep emotion. Red speaks to the intensity of their connection and the love they share. On the other hand, when Belly is around Jeremiah, she tends to wear blue, a calmer colour that sometimes feels distant or even sad. This colour contrast quietly shows where Belly’s true feelings lie.
Movie references involving a love triangle

Belly’s dorm room decor is more than just decoration. Posters for classic films like Bye Bye Birdie and Sabrina offer more clues. Bye Bye Birdie features a character named Conrad, which is a clear nod to the show. Meanwhile, Sabrina is about a woman caught between two brothers who ultimately chooses the more serious older sibling. This echoes Belly’s love triangle perfectly and suggests that Conrad is the one she’s meant to be with.
Taylor Swift songs

The soundtrack is another clever way the show hints at Belly’s heart. Taylor Swift’s songs play a big role, with “Daylight” often accompanying scenes with Jeremiah, symbolising a hopeful but lighter love. Meanwhile, “Red” is linked to Conrad and the intense, passionate feelings Belly has for him. The way these songs are used shows that while Belly’s relationship with Jeremiah might feel safe, her love for Conrad runs deeper and is harder to let go of.
Unfinished crossword puzzle
via Amazon Prime
In the Christmas flashback, Belly completes a crossword puzzle with the phrase “P.S. I Still Love You.” This isn’t just a random detail, it’s a clear sign of Belly’s lasting feelings for Conrad. Interestingly, if you look closely, Conrad wrote the word “Still” but then erased it.
Even more striking, the reflection of the crossword on the counter forms an infinity symbol. “Infinity” has always represented Conrad, who gave Belly the infinity necklace in the first place.
