On Monday, April 7, Acorn TV announced the launch of the new show Allie & Andi-Shields is teaming up once again with Bernheim for this exciting crime drama. The duo had previously collaborated on WCTH and Netflix’s Mother of the Bride in 2024.
Here’s What The Show Is About
Acorn TV, announced this exciting new drama through a press release; this six-episode series features Shields as a successful author residing in a charming colonial town in New England.
Her character, whose name has yet to be revealed, will team up with an aspiring writer and influencer to uncover the murderer of a close friend.
Shields eagerly embraced this project, expressing no hesitation in collaborating with Bernheim once more. She commended the creator of WCTH for crafting a story centered around “two strong, smart women that audiences will want to support.”
Unfortunately, viewers will have to wait until 2026 for the series to debut, with streaming set for the fall to capture those cozy autumn vibes.
Why Did Brooke Shields Leave?
Fans may recall that Shields portrayed Charlotte Thornton, Jack’s late mother (Daniel Lissing), in Season 3 while in a recurring role; Shields has also appeared in various Hallmark Channel films.
In her new book, “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman,” she explains her reasons for departing from the network. She had initially signed a deal for 16 films but found the workload overwhelming.
Shields recognized that there were other opportunities through which she could earn a living, and mentioned that she wouldn’t have made this choice earlier in her career as a younger actress. “I couldn’t commit to ten more films that didn’t align with my expectations and felt entirely wrong for me,” Shields expressed. “So I decided to leave.”
