Peach Jam: Friday’s Top Performers
North Augusta, South Carolina – Nike’s Peach Jam is the central hub of grassroots basketball this week. On Friday, college coaches were back on the road for the second live evaluation period of July. However, they were only in the building for the 6:00 EST and 7:30 EST game slots.
Five courts were going at one time for each of the eight game slots played. Many of the courts were walled off and served as their own individual playing area.
On3’s Jamie Shaw sat courtside from start to finish, so let’s discuss Friday’s top performers from Nike’s Peach Jam.
On3 MVP: 4-star SG Trey McKenney
Trey McKenney is a strong and very physical guard. Tonight, he was at his best when getting downhill looking for the contact.
McKenney played an efficient game on Friday night. The 6-foot-4 guard was able to get into the paint where he played off of two and finished around the basket. He also stepped into a couple of threes, going 3-5 from behind the arc. Adding to the physicality, another major piece to McKenney’s success on Friday was his rebounding. He finished the night scoring 27 points, going 12-18 from the field with 12 rebounds.
2. Five-Star Plus+ PG Brandon McCoy (2026)
When it came time to step up, Brandon McCoy got the ball and took things over. The lengthy 6-foot-5 guard consistently played downhill, putting pressure on the front of the rim.
He is a top-level defender, able to guard the ball 94-feet and turn his man or aggressively play off-ball and in the passing lanes. McCoy quickly turns defense into offense. When he got the ball in the open floor he was decisive in getting in a straight-line toward the rim. He finished with 23 points on 8-13 shooting. On3’s No. 1 overall player in 2025 added 5 assists and 2 steals in the win.
3. 4-star SF Tajh Ariza (2026)
Each time you watch Tajh Ariza play he seems to add something to his game. With that said, he also always seems to be productive, finding a way to impact the game.
Standing in the 6-foot-8 range, Ariza’s best skill might be playing within himself. He has a smooth catch-and-shoot jump shot and is able to score within one or two dribbles. He also is aggressive in pursuing the rim in transition. A big impact he had in this game, and what got him on this list, was his defensive showing and rebounding. Ariza tracked the ball well and secured multiple boards in traffic. He also guarded at the point of attack, moving his feet and switching down a lineup. The upside is big for the son of Trevor Ariza. He finished Friday’s game with a 17-point and 11-rebound double double.
4. 4-star PG Dylan Mingo (2026)
There is something about Dylan Mingo that I just trust when he is on the floor. The lengthy 6-foot-4 point guard seems to always be in control of what is going on around him.
Mingo plays at an excellent pace, getting to his spots in the half-court with an array of deceleration and change of direction moves. He is also a quick processor with excellent touch on his passes. Defensively, he controls the point of attack. While continuing to straighten out his jump shot, Mingo’s impact on the game is apparent, especially when his team needs a play. He finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds including multiple plays down the stretch that helped secure the win.
5. Five-Star Plus+ PF Caleb Wilson
Caleb Wilson’s reinvention as a player has been a fun one to watch over the past few months. The Five-Star Plus+ forward has gone from a featured offensive cog to quite possibly the top perimeter defender in the class. Standing 6-foot-8, Wilson’s defensive presence has been undeniable over the past couple of months, proving to be able to slide his feet with perimeter based forwards and act as a weak side shot blocker in the half court. He uses his length well and he brings a physicality and toughness to the floor that lets his presence be known.
Wilson is still able to pick us spots on the offensive end, pushing the break off the rebound and spot shooting from three. While there were some questions surrounding Wilson’s long-term archetype outcome six months ago, his play with the Nightrydas program this summer has shown a very clear vision toward the highest levels of the game.
6. SG Abdou Toure (2026)
Coming off a FIBA U17 World Cup where he led the tournament in scoring, I was very interested in watching how he came back to play with the Expressions program during Nike’s E16 Peach Jam.
Abdou Toure is in the 6-foot-4 range with a strong frame and natural explosive burst. His scoring ability is intriguing as he has natural basketball feel, while also never pressing to make plays that are not there. He has to continue developing off the bounce and his self creation, but his feel to score the ball is apparent. He finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds.
7. 4-star C Jaden Toombs
The consistency of Jaden Toombs’ production has become something you can set you clock by. The 6-foot-9 post player finds his way into production with touch, strength, and an unrelenting motor.
Toombs is very strong, and he brings to physicality on both ends. He is an instinctive area rebounder with very strong hands in traffic. He also has a nose to find open space on the offensive end and create advantageous angles toward the rim. The aesthetic might not always be great, but the production is always there.
Other Peach Jam Friday Top Performers
3-star G Jaylen Cross (2025) has found his confidence over the past couple of months and strung together some notably high level performances. Cross is a 6-foot-4 guard whose reputation is as a lock down perimeter defender. Offensively, he has carved out a nice role shooting more consistently and finishing well at the rim. Tonight, with Wake Forest head coach Steve Forbes and others looking on, Cross finished with 20 points and 6 rebounds going 7-13 from the field.
G Dooney Johnson (2027) has an excellent frame with long arms and a great pace. What stood out on Friday was he played a fearless brand of basketball down the stretch. He called for the ball and delivered plays whether for himself or his teammates. The Team Herro 15s guard finished his Friday game with 20 points going 6-10 from the field.
4-star PG Isaiah Denis (2025) is a blur with the basketball and plays with the utmost confidence. He attacks the basket looking to score in bunches. While there is some inefficiency in his game his upside is quite high given his frame and physical tools.
4-star PG Chris Jeffrey (2025) is an aggressive player at the point of attack. The 6-foot-3 guard gets downhill seeking contact with the ball, finishing at the rim and getting to the line. He is a physical defender and rebounds his position well. Jeffrey makes a lot of winning plays that elevate the status of his teammates.
3-star SG Zach Kinzinger (Wisconsin) consistently made offensive plays throughout the game for Team Herro. The 6-foot-4 Wisconsin commit showed off his deep range but he also attacked close outs and finished plays at the rim. While the team lost the game, Kinzinger did his part the try and keep them in it.
SG Ty Schlagel (2027) seemed to be in the right place at the right time often. Standing in the 6-foot-5 range, he knocked down shots and used off-ball cutting to put pressure on the defense. Still developing, he has an interesting off-guard skill set that should be monitored moving forward. He finished with 20 points going 7-9 from the field and 3-4 from three.
4-star SG Kaden House (2026) can be an electric scorer, and he showed that early and often on Friday. House is a rhythm bucket-getter, and when he can get clean looks within two or three dribbles he is most comfortable.
4-star SF Tounde Yessoufou (2025) is a physical and productive player. Even playing through an injury earlier in the week, the 6-foot-4 wing’s motor did not stop. He played relentless on the boards, he attacked the paint, and he defended multiple spots. He finished his Friday game with 22 points and 7 rebounds.
3-star SG CJ Ingram (2025) revelry gave up football to focus solely on basketball. The 6-foot-5 guard is an electric athlete with an aggressive game. While guarding multiple positions on the floor he is also a sneaky processor and passer on ball. Watch this development closely, he has very high upside.
4-star SF Cam Ward (2025) steady wins the race and Ward has steadily produced over the past few months. The 6-foot-7 forward is strong and has a nose for the ball. He plays aggressively and he moves well.
4-star PG Acaden Lewis (2025) had some impressive flash plays throughout his Friday game. With a gym filled with college coaches, he knocked down shots and moved the ball well. Continued consistency will be big for him, but he was efficient in what he did tonight and did not turn it over.
4-star SG Kiyan Anthony (2025) is coming into his own as a player, continuing to show development each time out. Anthony still needs strength and game reps, but he is carving out space off the bounce getting to spots on the floor to get his shots off. He finished tonight’s game with a game-high 19 points.
PF Brandon Woodard (2027) has great size with an interesting skill set. The 6-foot-8 forward played mostly from the high and mid-post areas here and faced up to attack off the bounce or shot a mid-range jumper. Continue to monitor the upside.
4-star SF Jamier Jones (Providence) is a physical presence, but also unique in his game. Standing in the 6-foot-5 range he toggles productively between the three and four spots. He is an active defender and a productive rebounder. A lot of his offense comes in transition and with lobs, but he consistently puts pressure on the rim and brings a toughness to the game.
4-star SF Sadiq White (Syracuse) is a top one percent type of athlete. The 6-foot-8 forward seems to always be around the ball, on both ends of the floor. He has excellent length and uses his pop on the passing lanes and in transition. White is also an advantageous off-ball cutter.
