Ranking the predictions: Who we feel Auburn has the best shot with
If you like the RPM Rundown, this is another version of that. After a day of camp with many different targets on campus at once, I feel as though a ranking of the current RPM predictions is needed. I currently have seven open RPM predictions in favor of Auburn.
Who do we feel the best about right now? I will rank from highest confidence of landing at Auburn to lowest confidence of landing at Auburn.
No. 1 – OT, Broderick Shull, Bixby, Ok.
I made an RPM pick for Auburn to land Shull with 60 percent confidence on May 1. Since then, Shull has made visits to Nebraska and Auburn and even named the two co-leaders at one time. After his official visit, I feel great about this pick. It is the pick I am most confident about at this time. In fact, I think the Texas Tech and Texas A&M official visits are shaky for now.
No. 2 – Edge, Herbert ‘Third’ Scroggins, Savannah, Ga.
I made an RPM pick for Auburn to land Scroggins with 60 percent confidence on May 14. Without having seen Scroggins on campus at Auburn since March, I still feel very good about this pick. Scroggins will officially visit in the fall and will visit in July for Big Cat Weekend. I am watching that weekend for a potential commitment.
No. 3 – S, Anquon Fegans, Alabaster, Ala., Thompson
I made an RPM pick for Auburn to land Fegans with 60 percent confidence on April 8. As of right now, I feel great about Fegans landing with Auburn on July 29. The only reason Fegans is third in my ranking is because Georgia is a threat to Auburn. The Bulldogs hosted Fegans during their Scavenger Hunt Event and hold him in high regard. Still, I love the fact this Fegans’ dad is high on Auburn and Hugh Freeze. I also love that his older brother, Antwon, is now on Auburn’s roster. I have talked with at least three sources who all share my confidence.
No. 4 – Edge, Hezekiah Harris, Huntsville, Ala., Jemison
I made an RPM pick for Auburn to land Harris with 60 percent confidence on April 9. Even thought Harris has gone as far as call Auburn his number one school, he has not always stuck with that. Still, he wants to commit early and I don’t see anyone as close to landing him as Auburn at this time. He will return for Big Cat Weekend and that would line up close to when he’s said he’d like a decision. I have high confidence, but his finale is much farther off than the three above him.
No. 5 – LB, JaMichael Garrett, Gulf Shores, Ala.
I made an RPM pick for Auburn to land Garrett with 60 percent confidence on March 29. Since then, Garrett has taken in several visits, including a couple back to Auburn. He has a commitment date on June 19 and at this time, I like my pick for Auburn. LSU is heavily in the mix, too, and one to watch. So, my confidence is not sky high here, but sources continue to believe Auburn has the best shot.
No. 6 – RB, Alvin Henderson, Elba, Ala. (Penn State)
I made an RPM pick for Auburn to land Henderson with 60 percent confidence on June 12, 2023. At this time, I think there is still a high chance that he lands with Auburn despite his commitment to Penn State. Will anything happen soon? That is unclear. However, I have some confidence that Auburn will flip him at some point.
No. 7 – S, Eric Winters, Enterprise, Ala.
I made an RPM pick for Auburn to land Winters with 60 percent confidence on Oct. 20, 2023. This has been an up and down battle for Auburn. At one time, I believe he was close to committing to Auburn, but backed off. Now, Georgia and Miami have given him a lot to think about. At this time, I feel fairly confident that Auburn will land Winters, although it will be close. My confidence is not high, but I want to hold on to this pick for now.
No. 8 – OL, Jacobe Ward, Savannah, Ga.
I made an RPM pick for Auburn to land Ward with 60 percent confidence on March 31. At one time, I had high confidence in Auburn landing Ward. I still have confidence, but it has lowered a good bit in the past week. LSU has made a move for Ward and could get him on an official visit after his Auburn visit this weekend. If that happens, Auburn will have to battle much harder than it may have thought. I still have heard no reason to change the pick, just have lower confidence for now. Auburn could certainly close the door over the weekend.
