Nanu's Hot Chicken To Open New Restaurant In West Chester This Week
WEST CHESTER, PA — The first location of a beloved hot chicken joint in the western Philadelphia suburbs will open in West Chester this week, owners confirmed to Patch. Nanu's Hot Chicken will hold a grand opening at its new location on 314 S. High Street on Friday, March 7. They're taking over the former home of Taco Mar and Mr. Burrito. A ribbon cutting will be held at 2:30 p.m. and a "food giveaway" with free food for the first 600 guests will take place starting at 2 p.m. West Chester is the 11th location of Nanu's, one of the region's more popular hot chicken chains that rose to prominence in the city. "We have had so many requests for Nanu's in West Chester and Chester County," founder Imran Rashid told Patch. "We found the perfect location at the perfect intersection to bring together West Chester locals and the West Chester University staff (and) students. We can't wait to welcome all of our neighbors and new friends. We also are excited to work with fellow businesses and community groups to get involved in the area around our newest home." While a handful of suburban Nanu locales have opened up in Bucks County, the location in West Chester is the first to the west of the city. The West Chester location will also be the largest Nanu's in existence at 4,000 square feet, as it has two floors and a large outdoor patio with extra seating for the warmer weather. Altogether there is seasting for 90 people.Indoors also features 270 degree art murals designed with Philadelphia iconography and a "solar system inspired" starry ceiling.Rashid added that there are plans to open at least six more locations of Nanu's around the region. The West Chester location will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
