Decision Day: Will it be Miami Hurricanes, FSU or LSU for Jaboree Antoine

Decision day is here for New Iberia (La.) Westgate four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine, who will be choosing between LSU, Florida State, and Miami.
On New Year’s Day 2023, the Hurricanes became the first program to offer the 2025 prospect, who has since blossomed into one of the most sought-after defensive backs in the country.
Miami is now one of the final three programs in contention for his commitment.
“They were the first school to give me a chance, so I’m giving them a chance,” Antoine previously told CaneSport. “They were the first school to give me an opportunity, so I’m doing the same, and they’re a good program, too.”
After a near-six-month pledge to the Tigers, on June 23, Antoine, who is the No. 87 overall prospect in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, backed off his pledge to the in-state programs before naming his three finalists and setting a new commitment date.
“Going into this decision, it is going to be a tough decision, and I have to decide if I am going to stay in Louisiana or go away to Florida,” Antoine told On3. “I am a Louisiana kid, I am choosing between LSU and Miami, so it won’t be easy. Both Miami and LSU are schools I like a lot, so it is a big decision for me to make.”
This year Antoine has made two visits to Coral Gables, the most recent being his official visit to Miami in June. During that time, Miami’s secondary coach, Chevis Jackson, and defensive coordinator laid out their plan for the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder, which left a lasting impression.
“I had a fun time, a good experience,” Antoine said coming off his Miami visit. “Miami was the first school to offer me soI had to give them a chance. Coming down and talking to the coaching staff, seeing everybody, it was building that relationship and I enjoyed it.”
Throughout his recruiting process, Antoine has reiterated that Miami has been the most consistent school since first offering, which has led to the Canes on the brink of potentially landing a commitment from Antoine.
Now it’s a matter of time to see if the Hurricanes recruiting efforts will have paid off in the end when Antoine announces where he will be playing his college football on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT.
“They are the only school that has really been consistent (chasing him) since offering me, text me every day, call me every day, a school that has been in my ear a lot,” Antoine previously said.
Antoine’s On3 scouting report
Long-bodied versatile defensive back prospect with tremendous cover skills and ability to break up passes at the catch point. Measured in at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds during summer campus visits. Smooth in his backpedal and transitions. Very comfortable in man coverage, sticky defender. Excellent field vision and ability to break to the football once the quarterback pulls the trigger. Unverified long speed but is a smooth mover with twitch that can play as a center field safety. Also displays impressive movement skills when playing quarterback for his high school team as well. Willingtackler when working downhill but not overly violent. Verified top-end speed could assist in determining his ceiling buthas an extremely high floor regardless.
