Rookie cop who stopped Justin Timberlake for DWI branded ‘over-aggressive’ by locals for strict stance on traffic laws
THE ARRESTING police officer who took megastar Justin Timberlike to jail for alleged drunk driving has a reputation for rigid rule-following.
The pop icon spent the night behind bars on Tuesday after getting pulled over in the Hamptons area of Sag Harbor, New York.

The Sag Harbor cop who pulled over the actor and singer wrote in his police report that he saw Timberlake run through a stop sign and swerve lanes.
Officer Michael Arkinson, 24, then issued Timberlake a citation for allegedly driving while intoxicated and brought him to the station.
Arkinson is well-known in the vacation area for being a stickler about traffic rules, according to the New York Post.
The rookie officer has only been a member of the SHPD for three months, but he has already earned the title of “the Sag Harbor Nazi” and “little red-headed dip**t” for his enforcement style.
He reportedly had no idea who Timberlake was when he stopped him — possibly because he rose to stardom with the pop group NSYNC, who peaked before the cop even reached his teenage years.
The 6-foot 4-inch tall former lacrosse champion began working as a part-time traffic officer in 2017 before being promoted to a full-time Sag Harbor officer position this year, according to the Post.
Timberlake performed “poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” smelled of alcohol, and was unsteady on his feet, Arkinson wrote in his arrest report.
The star claimed he “only had one martini” and was just following his friends home.
He allegedly refused to complete a breathalyzer test three times, however, which led to the arrest.
The pop star pleaded not guilty and was bailed out by his lawyer, Eddie Burke, the next day.
Timberlake left the Hamptons the same day to prepare for his next concert, just two days later.
KNOWN AROUND TOWN
A resident of nearby Shelter Island complained about Arkinson to the Daily Mail.
“I was surprised he pulled me over,” said Spencer, who asked not to include his last name.
“It was off-season, and no one was around. It was a d**khead move. I felt like he pulled me over just for the sake of doing it,” the islander recounted.
That was not the last time Spencer ran into Arkinson, however.
Arkinson pulled him over a second time for talking on his cell phone, Spencer claimed.
“He told me I should have been using Bluetooth,” Spencer told the Mail.
Arkinson handed him a $145 ticket despite his explanation, Spencer claimed.
“I thought he would give me a break… It really interrupted my workout and lunch plans.”
“‘I think Justin Timberlake was a victim of over-aggressive Sag Harbor police,” he added.
