Fishing For Father’s Day

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6vBBlmXLcg

What a beautiful day!! Light winds, sunny skies and warm temps made for an awesome Father's Day.  I spent the day with the fam having lunch and playing a nice round of golf....I hope you had a great time this Father's Day with whatever you decided to do!  Happy Father's Day!!

Captain Andrew Dotterweich of the Fish On had a great day offshore putting a big tuna and mahi in the box while also releasing three white marlin.

This crew fished on Boss Hogg today out of Sunset Marina and had a great day with a big tuna fish and two white marlin releases.

Captain Dave Caffrey had a couple of productive trips today with keeper flounder on both.  This morning it was three keeper flounder and a HUGE weakfish that got away.  This afternoon, Gemma, Brittany, Anthony and Floyd (The Dog) had  three more keepers including Brittany's big 23" fish!

Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break had another good day with the bluefish today putting his crew on keepers for both trips.  There was also a nice flounder from the south jetty.

Captain Kane Bounds of Fish Bound has been putting in the work and his anglers have been reaping the rewards with big sea bass and good flounder fishing over the past several trips.

Anglers fishing on Double Trouble with Captain DJ Churchill have had really good fishing over the past several trips with big knothead sea bass and some nice flounder goin home in coolers.

Tyler MacPherson of Sunset Provisions caught this nice rockfish while fishing the OC Inlet.

Brian Reynolds, Brian Reynolds Sr. and Krystal Reynolds had a nice day with the bluefish including Krystal's first ever at 30".

Rich Daiker caught this 30" keeper rockfish last night at the south jetty on a Roy Rig fishing with Gabby Schindler.

Christopher Macmillan caught this 41" cobia in the surf while shark fishing last week.

George Mack caught this big bluefish in the Delaware surf.

Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported flat calm seas today and good fishing with sea bass and flounder along the rail.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star is glad to be back on the water....and so are his clients!

A light rail on Father's Day sure made for enjoyable fishing. Didn't hurt that it was flat calm all day either.
Laying in tomorrow for light maintenance (that we didn't do while in the throes of heavy maintenance!) Tues/Wed/Thur/Fri look like a fine summer calm coming. Lots of room on the rail this week too.
Anyway, paddled on out to Capt Bob's Memorial Reef first thing where Sienna & her Dad deployed a 24 block reef unit before pressing on. Capt Bobby's Reef now has 4,562 reef blocks & 98 reef pyramids..
Came upon a pod of saddleback dolphin that wanted to ride the bow wake.  Riding my course, they put on a bit of a show before breaking away.
We found a jig bite first thing. Not on fire, but clients were catching. Sienna, employing her reef building karma no doubt, was first over the rail with a dandy sea bass.
Many would follow.
Again thought fluke/flounder might begin a larger presence for us.
Ah, nope.
Couple though. Ken boxed two good ones.
Actually? Fluke must have been thick; while many jigged for sea bass mate Joey caught a nice one.
Ah well, a man with two watches never knows the time.. Just need a sea bass jig that fluke will hit!
In way of fish pool drama -- on my second to the last drift one of my favorite nurses boxed El Grande for the day. Karen's cbass had at least a pound on anyone else..
Get this last bit of maintenance behind us. Looking forward to some decent summer fishing next week!
Cheers
Monty

Found the nice live baits and had some fun with the flounder in this one....Check it out!!
