Jiri Prochazka Comes Clean on Accusing Alex Pereira of Using ‘Black Magic’ – “I Fell Into the Same Trap”

In June, Jiri Prochazka sent shockwaves through the MMA community when he accused light heavyweight King Alex Pereira of using shamanic rituals to gain an advantage in his fights. In an interview with The MMA Hour, Prochazka claimed that Pereira couldn’t defeat him without the aid of these rituals. Pereira and his team dismissed the allegations, but Pereira ultimately proved Prochazka wrong, at least through sheer prowess by knocking him out in their clash at UFC 303. Since then, the “black magic” claims were largely ignored, until recently. In a recent YouTube interview, Prochazka confessed that accusing Pereira of using black magic was a grave error.
After suffering consecutive losses to Alex Pereira, Jiri Prochazka is currently evaluating his next steps and considering a change in the weight division, Amidst this reflection, he decided to open up about his past struggles during an interview on his YouTube channel. When the host asked Prochzka, “What about the black magic in that fight? Is it something you want to revisit and address, or are you done with it?”  Prochzka paused, took his time, and responded, “As for the black magic…Well, over the past year, I’ve channeled that energy into other things, and started focusing too much on different sources of strength rather than solely on my own.”

Prochazka then reflecting on his mistake, claimed that he shouldn’t have brought up the topic of black magic and shamanic rituals in the first place, as it distracted him from the fight. He linked this error to his previous fight with Aleksander Rakic, adding, “By indulging in those practices, fell into the same trap as Rakic did, before the fight by talking about me and labeling me in a certain way.”
Jiri Prochazka’s previous statement about Alex Pereira using black magic was widely ridiculed by fans and the MMA community, who found it difficult to believe in such things in the 21st century. However, Jon Jones later weighed in on Prochazka’s claims, giving them unexpected credibility. Let’s delve into what Jones had to say about it.
Jon Jones responds to Jiri Prochazka’s black magic accusations
UFC heavyweight king Jon Jones has dominated the sport for nearly two decades, building his legacy on an aggressive fighting style and an undefeated reign that has struck fear into his opponents. Despite his dominance, this heavyweight king has his own fears, not of humans, but of mystical sports. Jones claims to have encountered these spirits in the octagon, but as a true believer in Jesus, he has relied on his faith to overcome them.
In a social media post last month, Jon Jones took to X to reveal his experiences, seemingly validating Jiri Prochazka’s statement. He said, “There has been a lot of talk about spirit channeling and magic in MMA lately. This stuff is all very real. I felt all types of weird energies walking into those arenas. Looking certain opponents in the eyes.” Jones further expressed his faith in Jesus Christ, saying, “I want to let you all know that Jesus Christ is king, he is and always will be undefeated. Every knee shall bow.”
What are your thoughts on Jiri Prochazka’s recent remark, where he unexpectedly brought up the controversial topic of black magic again? As of now, there has been no response from Alex Pereira or anyone from his team. We’ll keep you updated if there are any developments. Stay tuned for further updates.
