Lil Durk Linked To A Second Murder, This Time In His Hometown Of Chicago

Lil Durk has been accused of having a role in another murder, which occurred in Chicago two years ago. Per ABC7, court records that were unsealed Thursday allege that he is behind the fatal 2022 shooting of Stephon Mack.
The rapper is already facing murder charges in Los Angeles for a murder-for-hire scheme. Per ABC7, he is alleged to have planned to kill Tyquian Bowman, the Georgia rapper known as Quando Rondo, in Los Angeles. Lil Durk pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Currently, no charges have been filed against the rapper in relation to Mack’s death.

Per the Los Angeles Times, a 2023 redacted warrant alleges that Banks, whose birth name is Devontay Durk Banks, “offer[ed] money for people to kill those responsible for his brother’s murder, and more specifically, offering to pay money for any Gangster Disciple that is killed.”
The search warrant states that Lil Durk’s brother, Dontay Banks, Jr., was shot and killed outside an Illinois nightclub in June 2021.
“Evidence collected in this case also shows defendant has allegedly placed monetary bounties to solicit other murders, including a family member of a witness,” California prosecutors stated in a brief, according to the LA Times. “Defendant’s modus operandi is clear: he will use his power, his money, his influence, and any pretrial release to endanger anyone who he perceives as a threat, including witnesses in this case.”
Anthony Montgomery-Wilson and Preston Powell have been charged with Mack’s slaying, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. The spokesperson declined to comment on whether Lil Durk will be charged.
Jonathan Brayman, one of Lil Durk’s attorneys, said “we do not anticipate that he will be charged” after the hearing, the LA Times reported.
