"When I met him, he was just the most beautiful thing to me and I couldn't believe just how perfect he was. I felt like such a failure that I couldn't name him. He deserved so much more than that. It just really triggered me."She said it eventually took a year to settle on naming her son Aire.Now, her advice for all her expecting friends is to choose the baby's name before, "because when the hormones hit you can't make decisions," she added.In a survey of 4,000 parents and parents-to-be, BabyCenter, an online pregnancy and parenting platform, found that the most popular time to decide on a baby's name is during the second trimester.Meanwhile, 17% of respondents say they choose a name on the day their baby arrives, while 8% say they'll wait until a few days – or even weeks – before they make the decision.Thanks to social media and celebrities, it's becoming increasingly common for parents to give their children unique names.However, some countries like Germany have strict naming laws that forbid parents from naming their kids after places, titles, or brands.For some parents, picking a special name for their kids is so important that they even enlist the help of baby-naming consultants to get the job done.
