Trump holds Cabinet meeting after Netanyahu meeting, trade war update

by The Hill Staff
President Trump on Tuesday morning will hold a Cabinet meeting at the White House, a day after his visit with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where the two discussed the war with Hamas in Gaza and last month’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The president warned Tehran on Monday that while he is open to restarting nuclear talks, the Trump administration has not ruled out more strikes should a threat arise.
The meeting, Trump’s sixth since returning to office, follows his Monday announcement that his sweeping country-specific tariffs could begin Aug. 1, which reignited the trade war. The president also said the Pentagon would resume sending Ukraine additional weapons after it imposed a pause last week on some shipments.
The president is also likely to talk about the spending and tax bill, which he signed into law on the Fourth of July.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EDT.
