Between the dates of Sept. 24 and Sept. 30, eight non-fatal opioid overdoses were reported in the city, according to health officials.
"In Woonsocket, eight or more reported non-fatal opioid overdoses are considered unusual," the notice said.
Both the advisory and alert said Woonsocket has a rate of 376 reported non-fatal opioid overdoses per 100,000 people, which is more than double the statewide rate of 185 per 100,000 people.
