West Haven Fireworks 2024: Road Closures, Parking Bans Announced
WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven police are advising residents of road closures and parking bans that will be in effect for the city’s fireworks event on July 3.Police will close Ocean Avenue and Captain Thomas Boulevard from South Street to Kelsey Avenue at 5 p.m. on July 3.“Please be aware that if you are parked in any beach lot affected by these closures at 5:00 p.m., your vehicle will remain closed in the lot until the termination of the event and the road is reopened,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.Police said multiple side streets will have temporary “No Parking” signs.“We ask that everyone comply with these temporary restrictions,” police wrote. “Our agency will be strictly enforcing these temporary parking bans which may include a fine and towing the vehicle at the owners expense. These parking bans are to allow for safe passage of emergency vehicles and we appreciate your cooperation.“The Police Department will also be enforcing all beach rules and regulations. All bags, backpacks, and coolers are subject to search. We would like to remind the public that no alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the beach, and they may be confiscated if discovered.“We are looking forward to providing a safe environment for all to enjoy our fireworks event this year!
