Cranston Mayoral GOP Debate: Friday at 6:30 pm
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — One of the most hotly contested races this election cycle is for the mayor's office in Cranston.
Current Mayor Ken Hopkins is facing a challenge from state Rep. Barbara Ann Fenton-Fung in the Republican primary.
On Friday, Aug. 30, Hopkins and Fenton-Fung will go head-to-head in a Newsmakers debate moderated by Target 12 Chief Investigative Reporter Tim White and 12 News Politics Editor Ted Nesi.

Primary day in Rhode Island is Tuesday, Sept. 10, but early voting is already underway.
The winner of the Republican primary will go on to face Democratic City Councilor Robert Ferri in the general election in November.
