Did Wideout’s Social Media Post Lead To Patriots Release? Report Sheds Light

&&&&&&&&&&&&

The New England Patriots on Tuesday afternoon announced they released wide receiver Jalen Reagor from the team's practice squad, and the timing of such move was interesting.
Reagor posted a meme to social media just a few hours prior hinting he saw himself much better than the situation he found himself in. The since-deleted post made rounds shortly after Reagor's release and fans questioned whether it was a factor in New England's personnel move.
The Boston Herald's Doug Kyed on Tuesday evening shed light and reported it did not have a "direct result" in Reagor's release.
"Reagor's release wasn't the direct result of the social media post," Kyed wrote. "The speedy wideout had expressed similar sentiments internally leading up to Tuesday's roster move, according to a source."

Countless Patriots fans couldn't help but think Reagor's post was delusional and mocked him for the reference.
Reagor joined the Patriots in 2023 after the 2020 first-round pick failed to catch on with the Philadelphia Eagles or Minnesota Vikings. He caught seven passes for 138 yards in 11 games and made his biggest impact on special teams.
Reagor failed to make New England's 53-man roster after training camp and was not elevated for either of the first two regular-season games.
