Battlefield Labs playtests begin this week

A few weeks ago, EA officially announced Battlefield Labs, a new testing program intended to show more transparency on plans for future Battlefield titles and allow developers to gather feedback much earlier in the development process. Thousands of fans have already signed up to participate and now, the first playtest is ready to begin.
According to Insider Gaming, the first Battlefield Labs playtest is set to begin this Friday (March 7th). However, you'll have a very limited time window to get in on the action, as the first test is reportedly planned to last just two hours, and it will only be playable on PC, which is common for alpha-phase playtesting.
EA previously called Battlefield Labs its “most ambitious community development collaboration ever”, but we'll have to wait and see how frequently these playtests appear. One two-hour session a month – on a weekday no less, likely isn't going to garner the level of feedback required to really get a finger on the pulse of what fans are looking for.
The next Battlefield game is expected to release later this year, so we would anticipate many more Battlefield Labs playtests to pick up steam in the months ahead.
