Tracy Morgan to Star in New NBC Comedy From Tina Fey and '30 Rock' Producers

Tina Fey is back to working with Tracy Morgan in a new NBC comedy series along with other 30 Rock producers like Fey's co-showrunner Robert Carlock and writer Sam Means. Eric Gurian and David Miner are also producing alongside Fey for the new series. According to Variety, Morgan is expected to star "as a disgraced former football player on a mission to rehabilitate his image in a new NBC comedy pilot." The pilot is directed and executive produced by Rhys Thomas and comes from Universal Television and production companies Little Stranger, Bevel Gears and 3 Arts. Should the series get picked up, it will air on NBC. Last year, Morgan announced that he would star in Parmount+'s spinoff of CBS' The Neighborhood, titled Crutch. In Crutch, Morgan plays Cedric the Entertainer's character's cousin, Calvin Butler. Morgan starred opposite of Fey in NBC's popular 30 Rock from 2006 to 2013. For his role as Tracy Jordan in the series, Morgan received an Emmy nomination. Having been in the comedy scene for a long time, Morgan was on Saturday Night Live for seven season prior to 30 Rock. He released a stand-up special in 2023 for Max titled Tracy Morgan: Takin’ It Too Far. It remains to be seen when the pilot for this new comedy series will release.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
