Phelps will be part of primetime and daytime offerings airing on NBC and Peacock.
Dan Hicks and Rowdy Gaines are set to call the various events, with Elizabeth Beisel and Melissa Stark also contributing.
Phelps had a similar role during the Tokyo Games.
“We are excited to have Michael return to our coverage across both daytime and primetime, and of course, the place where no one knows more about winning – at the pool,” said Executive Producer Molly Solomon.
“With his ability to analyze and entertain, our viewers are in for another gold-medal performance.”
Phelps is diving right in and joining Hicks and Gaines for the U.S. Olympic trials.
The begin on Friday June 21.
Phelps welcomed his fourth son earlier this year, sharing the news alongside an adorable first photo.
He confirmed Nico Michael Phelps was born January 16 – adding that he and his wife Nicole Johnson are “blessed” to now be a “family of six.”
The pair revealed the news in a joint Instagram post, sharing a beautiful photo of them admiring their new baby.
A shirtless Phelps held his baby boy while resting his head on his wife as she smiled at their bundle of joy.
Phelps and Johnson dated on and off for a few years before the athlete popped the question in 2015.
They tied the knot just one year later in 2016, holding three separate ceremonies.
The couple welcomed their first boy Boomer that same year.
Phelps opened up about growing his family in an interview with Today at the end of last year.
