The upcoming anime adaptation of Senpai is an Otokonoko has received a new key visual, along with a July 4 premiere date and details about its theme songs.
The Senpai is an Otokonoko opening song is “Wagamama” by Whale Don’t Sleep, while the ending song is “Are ga Koi datta no ka na” by Whale Don’t Sleep and a featured artist. The featured artist will be revealed on June 9.

The Senpai is an Otokonoko anime is based on the LINE Digital Frontier-published manga by Pomu, which placed first in the 5th Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking and was the 2nd runner-up in the web category of Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishou 2021. Webtoons describes the plot as:
Can true love really overcome any obstacles? Saki, a high school student, confesses her feelings to Makoto. Taken aback, Makoto reveals his secret, but the sudden discovery doesn’t seem to bother Saki who is already head over heels for him. After being rejected, Saki asks Ryuji, Makoto’s childhood friend, for some advice on how to win his heart. A love triangle unfolds when Ryuji realizes that he might also have some feelings for his old friend.
The manga began serialization on Line Manga in 2019 and has eight tankoubon volumes from Ichijinsha as of April 2024. Crunchyroll will stream the show.
